The Rockies are closing in on winning 16 out of their last 17 games. I believe theyve been the best team in baseball since Memorial Day wknd. This team has been crazy good, backed up by that young solid lineup. This is the NL team Im scared of facing

Kaz is a single away from the cycle.

Damn, if we make it to the WS, I want no part of the Rox right now.

I realize they took 2/3 from us, but their starting pitching is kinda vulnerable, no?

edit - MVP makes it 10-3

Sure is, but Francis can give us fits, and their offense looks capable of stealing a game or two. They are last on my wish list of NL teams.

Jose Mesa translates to Joe Table. You can't win with a guy named Joe Table. See.

The Phillies fans have completely turned on their own team.

Rockies are rolling... for the sake of the Red Sox, I don't want to play the Rockies. But I'd still love to see the Rockies win the whole thing.

And Howard wakes up. Welcome to the series, Ryan.

Good point, and their bullpen is a strength as well.

If anyone on the team had ever seen a knuckle baller before* they'd have swept us.

*I don't know that to be true, but they ain't seen one nearly as good as Wakefield if they have seen one.

I can get on board with that. To be honest, it's kind of funny, they are the only team I'd like to see win it if the Sox don't. My uncle, who played college ball at Maryland and made it up to AA, is a season ticket holder. Nice seats about 12 rows up between the 3B bag and the foul pole. He's got to be loving this right now.

Quick question. They just said Speier wasn't eligible for the postseason roster unless there was an injury, which there was so that's why he's on it...

What's the requirement to be eligible for the postseason roster?

Isn't it being on the 40 man on Sept. 1st?

He pitched quite a bit in September... also pitched some in August and way back in April... :dunno:

edit: Kaz is going to miss the cycle :(

Leave it to Fuentes to make it interesting. Is it just me or does he always let two guys get on base every inning he pitches?

Bases loaded... not over yet.

Cubs are at home, I'd say them.

I thought I read that the Rockies are 35-17 at home in their last 35+17 () games there or something like that. The exact number may be different, but they've been scorching hot there. Plus they're 16 of their last 17 overall. This game should get into the bullpens somewhat early and the Rockies have the advantage there. In Jimenez's last start, he carried a no hitter into the 6th, I believe, and that was a playoff atmosphere as a win clinched a wildcard tie.

Arizona needs to capitalize here. Because, today, their pitcher, well, ....

And he shall be a-Livan

And he shall be a good man

I don't know if anyone is aware of this yet, but, there's only one Oct-OBER! Thought I'd share that with you all.

EDIT: If the next person to heckle Dane Cook at one of his shows asks him how many Octobers there are, then that person wins at life.

I hear he's not doing standup anymore to pursue a movie career.
