and aside from a game against the weak hitting twins' date=' DiceK has been putrid of late as well. Even with that 8IP 2ER performance, his Sept ERA is over 7. Hell, I hope you guys do take it. We cannot beat those f***ers and we can beat you. So win away.[/quote']I am glad that you are cocky due to the victories against a Manny-less, Youkilis-less, Crisp-less team.

How can I find some good stats on the sox vs. the a's? I want to see what the win loss stats are between the two teams playing eachother both home and away. I don't care about the stats including the other teams. I just want to see these two teams stats when playing eachother. I also want to see how Dice K has done against them. Can someone hook me up with this? I'm too lazy to try to find this, and I'm sure one of you baseball geniuses can help me out. ;)

Also, I'm feeling pretty stressed about Dice-K pitching Friday. Seems like too important of a game for him to prove himself "again". I don't know, I'm just not one of his biggest fans I guess. I think Friday's game is the most important game of the season psychologically. Please tell me I'm worrying for nothing. Give me some data to change my mind.

Well, the Angels haven't seen Matsuzaka yet. So he's got that going for him. He's normally pretty good against teams that haven't seen him for the first time if I remember correctly (minus a few, obviously).

Jacko is extraordinarily predictable. This is him cranky. 700, if AROD and Jeter (mind you I'm not comparing Youk w/ Jeter although I hate him and his fist pump beyond belief) were out for the series and they had lost those games in September, there would be a myriad of excuses raining down on the parade. Stop making sense.... w/ apologies to the Talking Heads. "Well, we weren't full force and .....a 4 million paragraph post on the prospects." He should be writing for Pravda circa 1979. Or Michael Moore circa 2007.

Except when he totally bails on his team when they are horrid. FIRE JOE! FIRE GUIDRY! I'm not watching baseball anymore like a tantrum laced 2 year old who lost his lollipop. And then everything is fine when they win. The greatest team on earth w/ the greatest farm system ever juxtaposed with subtle (kinda except if you're literate) digs at anyone else who disagrees.

Here's a little story about the MWID that happened to me a few days ago. I went to the local watering hole to have a few and watch a few innings of the Rox/Pods game. Which was epic and anyone who loves baseball had to love that game. Anyway, blowhard sitting next to me is extolling the masses w/ his knowledge of the game...so to speak.. and quizzing everyone around about various "facts" of baseball history. He was wrong about 92 percent of the time w/ his questions and it's a college town and no one knows a damn thing about baseball down here. I just listen. The lone chick just minding her own business.

He comes up w/ this one as I was prepared to leave. "What was the shot heard round the world?" "Who were the teams?" and "Who was the pitcher?." "I'll buy a shot for anyone who can answer correctly." Person after person says...ah..Giants?

Not according to Cliff Clavin. It was in fact the Yankees and Dodgers. He said, w/ great fluffing of his chest and ego. And, it was 1953! Not sure of the pitcher he says.

I quietly walked up to him and said..."You're a Yankee fan aren't ya." "Yes, he replied." "How did you know?" "Just a hunch".....With no one else paying attention, I said to him.."It was 1951. It was the N.Y. Giants and the Brooklyn Dodgers ...the pitcher was Ralph Branca and I don't need a shot....I already have enough proof right here." Clueless as ever he said...well I have a lot of respect for anyone w/ knowledge of baseball history....why don't you stay?

True story.

this game was much more of a must win for you guys than it was for Anaheim. Friday's game is a distinct advantage with Escobar facing DMats. A win by them gives them home field and sends the sox to the west coast with the chance of not coming back. But' date=' if you guys take fridays game knowing that Beckett looms again as does fenway, then this series is pretty much over.[/quote']

Oh my god shut the f*** up Escobar's pitched like s*** the last month and he has shoulder inflammation just shut up.

Boston vs Los Angeles/California/Anaheim/LA of Anaheim

I'm assuming you mean LA of Anaheim and not Oakland.

--- First time Angels are facing Dice-K. The Angels are a free swinging team, he'll be racking up the Ks

--- Red Sox were the 2nd best road team in the majors behind the Mets to go up against the best home team in the majors. I still like the matchup

--- Escobar isnt the symbol of being healthy, he does have a sore shoulder

--- Yep the Sox will lose the next 3 games, keep dreaming... Last I checked those 2 games in Anaheim will be Schilling vs Weaver, pssst Schilling is a big post season pitcher and he's been a solid force in the 2nd half. And game 4 will be Beckett vs Lackey, and Beckett has been a road warrior, and he did a little thing last night shutting out the Angels

Man, you guys are a bit testy these days. Here is the point. The ALDS, as I have said before, is set up for the home team to fail unless they take the first 2. I have seen it with my own eyes many times. We have had home field on two occasions now and never made is out of the visiting teams park. This is because the lower seed needs only one game of the first two. Then they go home with the opportunity to end the series. And last I checked, the Angels are the best home team in the majors. So, dont get all testy. Dont sit there and try and make this out to be me smearing your team. Remember who I want to win. Just take it from experience here, as I have had the pleasure of watching us in the ALDS for what, 13 yrs now? The visiting team needs only one in the first 2 and then it is distinctly in their favor in the 5 game set. In the 7 game set, not so much because winning 3 in a row is a whole lot harder than winning 2 in a row.

Ellsbury>Crisp. That kid f***ing owned us. The other two certainly were helpful, but we beat you with them prior to that too. I am not saying we will beat you guys, just that we can. On the other hand, we will not and cannot beat the Angels.

Seriously though its not like you creamed us at Fenway. We could and should have won all three of those games. The Yankees winning 2/3 was a fluke in that series.

Matsuzaka + Sox offense > Escobar and the Angels offense.

I would love nothing more than a Yanks loss tonight.

We could have said that about the three games in Fenway earlier this year.

That's very true, and indicative to just how even the two teams are.

One claiming superiority or advantage over the other is just foolish.

Exactly my point. It's not like because the Yankees won 2/3 at Fenway you guys are so much better than us. Do you understand my point?

We match up well with you guys. In fact, I think our best chance is against you guys than it would be against the Angels or the Guardians. Conversely, I think your worst shot is against us. This doesn't mean we will beat you, but we've got to scare you guys a bit.

Man what a game last night Beckett was NASTY last night pitched amazing and further proved to everyone why he should be winning the Cy Young in the A.L. If the Sox come out and play in Game 2 like the did in Game 1 then we should be up 2-0 in this series. GO SOX GO.
