Don't matter, he didn't blow it. He left 2 men on, but that happens. I'll take that over a blown lead any day.

I'm rethinking my thoughts on Drew, he can hit when he wants too, and now he really needs to start "wanting to" some more.

This Corey fella, who the f***? Take him out for f*** sake.

Drew's a f***ing genius, all he has to do is want to hit and he can do it.

No wonder you're gonna make it to the show....you've got some kind of baseball acumen.

You're sarcasm is REALLY getting old, I hope you realize that. Whether or not you care, just so long as you know.

Oh why? Because I have the faith that it's actually possible for Ellsbury? I think he's a smart hitter. He's got the potential.

What happened to him hitting 500 homers like Ted Williams?

Well I can honestly say I jumped the gun on that one. I was hyped by his good playing when he first started playing fulltime. But having looked into it, I don't think home runs is his forte. But 3,000 hits or more? I'm willing to bet he'll do it.

EDIT: But in relation to Ted Williams, I'd say he's similar to him as to being a smart hitter. Ellsbury looks like he's a thinker at the plate.

Seriously? You're actually willing to wager that somebody who has a grand total of 35 hits will get 3000? There are so many variables to something like that. He needs to play for a very long time, he needs to consistently be healthy, he needs to consistently be one of the best hitters in baseball. I am not anywhere near going so far as to say he'll do it. He needs an average of 200 hits for 15 seasons.

Mind you he's still a rookie and came in later in the season. Wait'll he comes back next season full time. That and with the experience of this season I really think he can do it.

And he may have only 35 hits, but that's in less than 35 games(?).

So if he's getting a hit a game plus some, add that consistancy, to which I think he has, with experience for next year, I wouldn't be surprised if 25 years from now we see his number retired and possibly in Cooperstown.

3,000 hits is really an incredible feat. I understand that you have high hopes for Ellsbury, and I expect him to be a very good player as well, but to basically assume that he's going to achieve that kind of milestone is jumping the gun a bit.

Mind you, I'm not saying he won't, I'm just saying that it's not something that you'd be smart to assume.

You know people never thought that much of Biggio either, and well you know the rest.

i am impressed with ellsbury too

but how many men hit 3000??

thats 200xs15...when ellsbury is in his 10th year and is still performing like this he will have 100m in the bank

think that changes your game and attitude??

3000 hits is legends s***,this kid dont even shave yet

i dont see it happening based on common sense and experiece

he may be great and mvp material but 3000 hits is a gigantic leap of faith

i got tix for thursday

i may need to wear my combat pants and hockey helmet

they win tommorow and thursday with another ny loss and i am there for the east crown

last time i was at an event that clinched anything it was julius adams last game in 85 against cinci and the pats clinched the wildcard that day

that was also the day they carried the goal posts down rte 1 killing at least 1 man in the process...the win against indi in the afc semis wasnt nearly as exciting as the game i refer to

the pats were horrid for years and were 1-4 that year before they canned ron meyer and brought in ray berry and im pretty sure they only lost 1 more game during the season

3 road wins in the playoffs were incredible but all was forgotten due to the beating in new orleans by chicago

you havent lived till you see 10,000 people walking down the highway after tearing down the goal posts....

Look out Joe Dimaggio, Ellsbury is going to get a hit in every game next season. That'll shatter the record.
