I wonder what's going through the mind of Manning right now?

Don't s*** your pants....Three seconds until pick....Not fair, powder blue looks a lot like our uniforms....Two seconds until pick....Man, these second stringers are scrubs....One second until pick....This is hard w/o my favorite PI crew....Pick.

Phew' date=' this puts tons of breathing room between the Pats and the Colts for homefield.[/quote']

How bad should you really want home field, though?

If you play the Colts in Gillette Stadium and the weather conditions are as bad as every other time you've played them in the postseason, wouldn't that negate Randy Moss and Stallworth's ability to get down field?

Interesting point I'd never considered, but I think the Colts D is predicated so much on speed that it would effect them even worse.

Besides, if Freeney's out for any prolonged period of time the Steelers become the Pats' biggest threat.

The Patriots will have home field. They are unstoppable. Last week, they played as bad as they could play, and they still beat the 2nd best team out there. This yr is the yr of the patriot and only a cruel twist of fate (or of Brady's knee) will derail that.

So they just played bad, that's it? For no particular reason? The offensive line just forgot how to pass block all of a sudden?

I don't think the 49'ers win another game. The Pats are going to get a top-3 pick. Boston could go through the best 2-3 year period for a city in the major three sports in history.

The 49ers have some talent on offense, they need to take the training wheels off and open it up. Poor Alex Smith, the guy's never had the same offensive coordinator twice. No quarterback is going to be successful with that kind of inconsistency. Their offensive gameplan seems so... blah.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Colts have claimed DE Simeon Rice off waivers from the Broncos.

It is rare that a vested vet like Rice with a $3 million contract would be claimed off waivers, but the Colts are only on the hook for his minimum salary; the other $2.2 million was tied to incentives and bonuses. Rice could barely crack Denver's end rotation, but has a chance to make an impact in Indianapolis, which will be without Dwight Freeney (ankle/foot) indefinitely.

The Indianapolis Colts already expect Dwight Freeney not to play for several weeks because of a left foot injury, but now there's reason to believe the Pro Bowl defensive end's season might be over.

Though more tests have to be completed for the team to make a final determination, a source said Tuesday that Freeney might have suffered a Lisfranc injury in Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers. If additional tests verify the initial diagnosis of the midfoot injury, the source said Freeney will need season-ending surgery.

How Romo doesn't draw more Grossman comparisons has me scratching my head. That throw on the botched snap is the first lesson in Grossman 101. He just grabbed the ball, whirled around and flung it downfield without looking. Pick.

People forget, Grossman had some games last year with unreal numbers. Romo is the same way, he'll wheel and deal to win some games, but he'll lose some all by himself too. If Buffalo was half the team earlier this year that they are now, they win that game that he threw 5 picks in.

4th and less than a yard from the Dallas 33, and Gibbs goes for the 50 yd FG to end a drive that started on the WAS 4. Longest attempt of the year for Suisham. Misses it, of course. Had a real chance to stick a first half dagger in there by extending the drive, keeping the D on the field, chewing up the clock, and extending the lead. Too bad Gibbs hasn't hit menopause yet, and his cycle prevented him from going for the throat. Now Dallas starts off with good field position.

Romo needs to pick it up in the second half.

And ORS, I guess I can see the comparisons, but Romo is a much better quarterback than Grossman is. Better completion %, better rating. While that play wasn't textbook, he did have a shot at a big play, and Springs/Fletcher made a tremendous play on it. Tip your cap.

Give Grossman a HOF WR and a back that can make plays in the passing game, and I think we are looking at the same guy.

Unbelievable play by McIntosh. The guy is a ball hawk.

EDIT: Nevermind. Looked good at first, but he needed the ground to secure it.
