Lester clearly doesnt have his stuff, he's looked like the same pitcher who was struggling up in the bigs last year. Believe me I am happy about the Gagne trade, but at same time I was wary of them trading away a major league ready starter in the form of Kason Gabbard. He had really made a name for himself and pitched like he was a god in fenway Park. Im all for campaigning for Bucholz to get a shot. Lester's story is a great one but you have to put sentiment aside for quality

 

Pedroia... he just keeps rolling along. As i said, I'll be sitting pretty when he becomes a fan favorite

I agree with you on Lester and had a similar thought with Buch. However I remember readinf some place that the plan is to shut him down soon.

 

Saw some stat during the game - Lester ave. about 18 pitches per inning this and last year.

I dont think Buchholz makes it to the big this yr as a starter. If he comes up, it should be pen.

 

Also, Lester looked awful, but people have those days. I missed his previous 2 lackluster starts so I cannot say anything about how s***** his stuff has been, but last night's stuff was awful. s***** location, couldnt throw strikes consistently and when he threw a strike it was belt high.

 

BUT, this was a big win for the sox. They battled and beat a good team on their turf by taking it to their biggest strength, their pen. They avoided the sweep and go into the off day with momentum and with their big 2 set for the next series.

What about Beckett for Cy Young? Anyone think so? There arent many strong candidates this season in the AL...Beckett' date=' Haren and maybe [b']Wang[/b] and Santana.

Don't forget about Erik Bedard, who we'll be facing tomorrow night. I think he deserves it just as much as anyone at this point. He has won 6 straight starts, and 8 of his last 9. Not to mention the guy has 192 K's as well.
