He's just not ready and he never was. His numbers even at Pawtucket were not overly impressive. There needs to be a fix to it soon because the division is slipping away from this team. I agree with giving Buchholz a shot, and even anyone else once the rosters expand.

I don't think the division is slipping away because the Yanks have been playing s*** teams, but I really think Buchholz pitching instead of Lester is a giant step in the right direction for this team.

I agree, Buchholz has the tools and I think he is ready to get a shot. It can't get much worse than this right now, every start Lester has it's the same script, he's not helping the team or himself.

I would definatly agree, the problem is choosing who to bump out, wake or lester and personally id like to see them both leave the rotation... and not return

I doubt Wake will be gone because of the loyalty he has shown the organization, but I agree he needs to go. Like I said, it's a 3 pitcher team right now and that adds pressure to Beckett, Dice-K and Schill to perform at their best. At this stage of the season, it's no time to experiment with guys or give them a long leash. I don't like the notion of having to face the Yankees coming up the way they've been hitting with them knocking on the door.

I don't mind Wakefield if he's eating innings and getting decisions every time out...as the FIFTH starter. Lester should be sent to AAA, finish up the season, and call it a year. Come back during March and fight for your spot then. But right now, Wakefield's the 4th starter because Lester's the 5th. Buchholz would, IMO, EASILY be at least a 4th starter for us. Hell, he may even be a better bet than Schilling. He's ready to come up here and help this team. Someone said he has "ice in his veins." Sounds like the ideal guy to be pitching for us down the stretch.

 

Theo is babying him. I'm sick of it. He's a man, and he can handle it.
