Joel Pineiro got rocked around in his Cardinals debut, giving up 5 runs in 5 innings against the Washington Nationals  Also this just in from Gordon Edes, talks are ongoing with the A's Bobby Kielty. From what I could understand, Sox might just place Wily Mo on waivers and get what they can from a team through the waiver line.

Pedroia/Youk combo again at the top of the order, Mike Lowell batting 5th, this time with all starters in the same lineup for the first time in awhile... wouldn't mind seeing that for the rest of the season

Daisuke Matsuzaka (4 games vs Seattle, 1-1 with a 4.33 ERA---Career at SAFECO Field in 2 games, 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA)

Ichiro Suzuki, 1 for 12 (.083 avg) RBI, 2 Walks, 3 Ks, SB

Jose Vidro, 3 for 11 (.273 avg) RBI, 3 Walks, 4 Ks

Jose Guillen, 4 for 12 (.333 avg) Double, 3 RBIs, 5 Ks

Raul Ibanez, 0 for 7, RBI, Walk, 2 Ks

Adrian Beltre, 2 for 10 (.200 avg) Double, HR, RBI, 2 Walks, 2 Ks

Ben Broussard, 1 for 6 (.167 avg) Double, 3 Ks

Kenji Johjima, 3 for 9 (.333 avg) 2 Doubles, RBI, K

Jose Lopez, 2 for 11 (.182 avg) K

Yuniesky Betancourt, 4 for 11 (.364 avg) HR, 4 RBIs, K

///

Jamie Burke, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) Double, K

Richie Sexson, 1 for 8 (.125 avg) 2 Ks

Dustin Pedroia, 0 for 3, Walk

Kevin Youkilis, 5 for 10 (.500 avg) 2 Doubles, 2 RBIs, 2 Walks

Game Thread's been dead.

Not a big fan of the Mariners announcers. Something about 'em. This is also my first time watching the Sox play on the West Coast while I reside on the East. Helps that I'm usually up late at night to begin with. :dunno:

Good job getting out of the jam....nice of Tito to let him get out of it himself (although paps may not have been ready yet)

I really thought Tito should have brought Paps in 8th with two on and two out, but Gagne did ok getting out of it.

Boston is the only team that has three 13 win pitchers :) Last night I had just a major migraine that I eventually had to go bed around the 4th inning when they were still trailing 1-0. One hell of a game to watch, tho did get jittery when saw the play by play in Gagne's inning. As roto said the playoif the game might have actually been Manny hustling all the way from first on Varitek's 2 run double. Ok so we keep the Yanks at bay while they are nearing the end of an exetended lucky schedule

67-43, back to 24 games above .500, hold on to 7 game lead

Beckett vs Batista... this should be in our favor, but IT IS f***ing Seattle
