The Sox need some wins. Could there be a better time to install John Lester?

He is hungry for some wins too. There is nothing wrong with using some young players who want to prove that they can win.

I say "give him the ball."

I used to be in the Lester camp, but no more, he needs to take this whole year to get back and just be ready for ST next year. Buchholz, on the other hand, could make quite the impact this year once he builds up his arm strength at AAA.

Lester is not very good at this point. He cannot throw strikes consistently to AAA hitters and nothing he has shown at the Major League level leads me to believe he would fare any better with the Sox. I am not a huge Lester fan..I think he is ok..but definitely someone I would hype and trade as part of a packagefor a proven pitcher or big time bat.

Schilling is going to be back in about two weeks. Why bring up a guy who has been inconsistant in AAA for just a couple of starts? Obviously either Gabbard, or Tavarez has to leave the rotation once he comes back. Right now, Gabbard is in the lead to keep his spot.

Buchholz won't be up until much later in the season. He isn't building up arm strength... he's learning how to set up hitters. It isn't time to bring him up.

Not really performing well in AAA. I wouldn't.

Tito and Theo obviously agree with me.

I thinks he's a major league pitcher. Now, we will wait and see.

I think we'll see Lester twice, and that's it.

While I'm not against bringing up Lester at some point, I hardly feel that the first time he takes the mound in the Bigs in a year should be at the Jake against Cleveland. He's not exactly tearing through his AAA competition, but you're going to throw him on the road against one of the top 5 best offensive teams in baseball? Talk about baptism by fire...

Gotta wonder if the Sox are more interested in moving Lester given buchholz's success.

Lester looked good. What else can you say?

Have'nt heard anything but would'n't be suprised.

I still don't think he's the answer' date=' but he looked alright last night. He was wild but stayed effective. His location was completely lost at points.[/quote']

Looked good enough to get his trade value up....pull the trigger now Theo!!!!!!!

I have a hard time seeing the Red Sox deal Lester at this point, maybe before he got called up but now with the spotlight on him I can't see the FO taking the hit after all this.
