He's probably going only one more inning.

What about Contreras as a trade possibility? He looks okay tonight.

I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't give up a lot for him because he's been shaky but he'd better solidify the back end of our rotation than the sack of s*** we have right now.

My money's on a strikeout followed by a double play.

I should clarify... by "strikout followed by a double play"... I meant a bases clearing triple.

Wow. Timlin isn't doing badly at all as a contributing member of this bullpen.

Our pen is fine as it is, Theo. We need a starting pitcher or a big bat. Or both. Just make it happen please.

How about we give Texas an offer they can't refuse for Teixiera and Otsuka.

Youkilis, Bowden/Lester, WMP, Pineiro (+$), Moss/Murphy

Why did Cora pinch hit for Papi? (I'm gamecasting since the game is inexplicably blacked out here)

They aren't saying on TV, because they don't know. They are guessing that perhaps he got shaken up by his bellyflop into 2nd base.

It is likely blacked out because you're in the greater chicago broadcasting area? Indy is pretty far from Chicago, but in terms of baseball teams it is the closest place, isn't it (Maybe Cinci or Cleveland are about the same distance?) Just a guess.

Reds, Cubs and White Sox games are all blacked out here. We get most Cubs games on WGN and some Reds games on FSN Indiana, but we don't get whatever station it is the White Sox usually play on. It would make sense if we got all of their games on local tv, but we don't. So I'm pretty much screwed if I ever wanna watch the White Sox (except on ESPN or Fox).

id go to war against anyone with Beckett' date=' he rises to the occasion[/quote']

Seriously. In the playoffs he's the guy I want, perhaps in all of baseball. He's an animal on the mound, with a new composure this season that really is setting him apart and making him seem very business like.

He doesn't need to be trying to blow people away with every pitch. Dominance is when you're 7 innings into a game and there haven't been more than 1 or 2 hard hit balls or baserunners on you. His stuff alone makes him well above average; when he's on he is one of the best around.

Reminds me of Verlander, who has a slightly better fastball, but I think his secondary stuff isn't quite as good. They are pretty similar pitchers, though Beckett , on the surface at least, has a little more of that "f*** you" streak in him.

That sucks. I sometimes get into trouble when the Sox play Seattle, althought I believe all Mariners games are televised now.

Drew is peppering the f***ing ball. You should do that all year long buddy. Just spray it to RF. Even if it isn't a "Perfect pitch" like you always seem to be looking for.

I wonder if they tweaked his stance or something...

Good to see Drew coming alive.

First Pedroia, then Crisp, then Lugo, now Drew.

If Manny is next this team is in good shape (assuming Papi's shoulder strain isn't too serious).
