This certainly reminds me of someplace else.

Win the game you suckbags. If they lose this Beckett start against a s***** hitting team with a struggling Contreras on the mound who normally sucks against us, I'm putting a hole in my wall.

Who wants to predict how awesome Contreras pitches tonight? He is in line to be traded and has a chance to leap off this sinking ship. A good start in the Fens against the "mighty" red sox could help him out a bit.

I have a scenario....

Contreras goes 6 innings allowing 9 hits, 4 walks yet no runs.

Beckett goes 8 strong innings of shutout baseball.

The fabulous white sox pen throws 9 solid innings allowing no runs yet 21 baserunners, and Joel Pineiro gives up the game in the 15th inning after hitting 2, an error by Lugo and a walk.

I'll buy with one addition. Game ends on a loud, warning track out by Ortiz, inches from the bullpen.

Struggling Contreras?

As a White Sox he is 3 and 0 with a 3.86 ERA, with a 1.29 WHIP and averaging 6.42 innings per start.

As Butchie Stearns says - I am not so sure about that!

I'll watch this game with my buddy Jack Daniels close by.

I wish Beckett could hit tonight. Maybe, just maybe, he'd hit a bloop single that would inspire our otherwise lifeless lineup.

What makes this so hard to watch is that the only things that could really help our team via trade are remote possibilities at best due to the bleak trade market.

Gah!

Aren't fair-weather fans those who only root for the team when they're doing well? I know that I sure as hell haven't stopped rooting for them, and I would bet that anyone who spends the time to come to "talksox.com" is still rooting for the sox more than other teams (jacksonian, gom, etc., aside).
