The government rarely loses the cases it prosecutes on a federal level. In my opinion, Vick should absolutely go to jail over this.

 

In fact, Vegas is putting the odds as follows:

 

Will he be waived - 5/2

Will he be traded - 10/1

Fined/serve jail time - 2/1

He will issue a Public apology - 1/80

He will enter rehab - 5/1

He will be banned for life from the NFL - 50/1

 

I'm thinking of putting $1000 on him getting jailtime/fined.

that's true, but he doesn't get paid if he's suspended (or kicked out). Plus all his endorsement deals are suspended or gone. The way he lived his life, he spent a lot of what he made, and why not with the amount due him....but who's to say atlanta,ect...don't sue him for whatever he has left.

From what Ive heard about Culpepper, hes done. His body is too messed up to be a factor. Interestingly enough, ESPN released an article introducing the Falcons and the football world to their new starting QB, Harrington. Ugh.

 

I think the thing about Schaub is, he was an unknown. He played so well against a team like the Pats who screw around qith Qb's minds, especially young ones. Either way, if you are the Falcons at this point who do you take? Culpepper, Schaub, or Harrington? I would take Schaub over the others because I already know what the others can (or cant) do. Too bad for Schaub that he will flounder in Texas just like Carr.

 

If I am the Falcons and I have both Vick and Schaub, I would play Schaub anyway. Vick has proven to be a below average QB, and certainly not a winner. I mean, there is no nice way to say it, Vick sucks. He is maybe the most athletic/fastest professional athlete who just happens to play QB and get by on his speed alone. Other than that, a QB who cant throw, especially to open receivers is a worthless one.

So now vick can't report pending the NFL reviewing any concrete evidence that he violated the NFL's policy. I also just heard that Virginia (big surprise ) isn't going to prosecute him.

He's done. I'm in VA and 1/2 of the people I work w/ went to Tech and they are loyalists beyond the pale. Lot's of opinions..mostly...f*** him type of opinions. Other than a baby fighting ring, there aren't worse things you can do in a country of animal lovers. I'm not going to go into the whole Pit debate, because I've met a few who don't fit the stereotype, but as a breed they are more inclined to snap and snap quickly and w/out provocation and don't even start w/ the "oh...it's how they are raised" crap. A maltese is a maltese and a lab is a lab and I like my animals wimpy. And genes are genes.....which brings me back to these...

 

subhumans who could do this to another species who breath the same as we do and for the most part just want to please and be fed and loved, and give way more back then they are given. The argument that there is some kind of skewed logic that we treat human predators who commit crimes against human victims w/ more mercy is absurd and one I hear often. If you believe that we are the superior thinking beings I suppose that's true. Dolphins have larger brains and most scientists agree that they are more emotionally intelligent. We just don't speak their language.

 

And, most, if not all serial killers started out w/ slaughtering animals for fun and practice. It's about respect for life. Not intellectually superior life...just life. I'm also a carnivore, wear leather, and think PETA people are insane zealots. Those w/out compassion and empathy....them I fear.

I simply don't understand why all sports do not have tougher policies. I think if you start banning players for life, the s*** will clean up REAL fast. Get caught with steroids? BANNED. Shoot someone in a nightclub. BANNED. Run a dog-fighting ring? BANNED.

 

You know what? That player will be replaced, and soon forgotten. No one lasts forever in sports, and no one lasts forever.

 

We give these athletes too much leeway. Stories like Josh Hamilton should be one of the major stories this year, not steroids. I am so sick and tired of this crap.

 

I digress. Back to Vick. Imagine being that father who just bought his son a Vick jersey, or being the father who's son idolizes Vick and has his posters all over his room, and his player cards, etc. What an *******. Goodell should just ban him for life. I'm not a lawyer, I'm a banker, but it seems easy enough to me. If Vick goes to court, all Goodell has to say is that he violated the NFL's good conduct policy and that playing in the NFL, or any professional sport is A PRIVELEDGE, NOT A RIGHT.
