Our 3-4-5 hitters can't drive runs in. Ortiz did it earlier so I'll get off his back, and Drew's been pretty good recently, but I'm concerned about Manny. I really am. I can't stand this. Overall, they're not driving runs in. DAMN IT guys. Seriously.

If it's 3-0 with men on first and second, why swing at a pitch that could load the bases? Why not make him throw a strike first?

This is true, but it's already at the point that opposing pitchers know he isn't going to swing. They just put a meatball right down the middle and they're back into the count. And with Manny starting to show signs of a pitch-recognition struggle, Manny should just unload of one of those 3-0 meatballs he gets.

 

Whatever, Manny knows what he's doing I guess... it just sucks that he isn't showing that he knows what he's doing.
