This will be the ultimate test (so far) for Dice K. I think he has gotten better with each start in one way or another, and really is mixing his pitches well while using his FB to establish the hitter's need to defend the plate. I have seen far fewer of those sliders/forkballs that bounce 12 feet in front of the plate going directly at the batter than earlier in the season. While WE look at a guy who has 1 bad inning each start and has been hurt because of it, the rest of the league sees a guy with 9 wins, an era trending toward below 4 and the 4th most K's in the league. As a 26 year old. Rookie.

I think the word "*******" is a little harsh to describe someone who is quickly becoming one of the best pitchers in baseball. When this guy gets rolling we're talking about potentially the best pitcher in the world on any given night, in terms of shutting down the other team and giving his team a chance to win. He may not be perfect, but he is a true professional and getting better all the time.

I wouldn't say that... we've already gotten, like, four balls to the warning track. That's living pretty dangerously.

True, he does have a 1.73 ERA through 4 June starts

Matsuzaka has had 15 starts this year. In those 15 starts he has allowed at least 4 walks 4 times. That's 11/15 times where he has walked 3 or fewer. It's not as rare as you may think.

Ive been saying for a while, but Dice-K turned a corner after his ERA reached a season high 5.45 back on May 9. He had the bad start in Tex where he was sick and then another one after that (where he was probaly still feeling the effects) but during that stretch since then hes been a very good pitcher. Even with the 2 bad starts his ERA since May 9 is 3.12.
