Paps is not hurt. Body language from the bullpen would indicate he was surprised by Francona's choice to keep him in the bullpen. You have to remember its May 3rd, and if the arm of one of the most valuable pitchers on this staff is in need of rest Francona will give it to him no matter the competitive mindset Paps may have.

For once I agree with the ESPN douches. If there is a save sit. tonight and Paps isnt used, then there is something wrong. Until then, you have to believe Francona and think that he isnt hurt.

He isnt hurt, this was part of the plan coming out of spring training, if Tito felt like he needed two games off, then its great that Tito held back tonight. Now we have a very fresh Paps for the twins series, and we won both games when he was able to pitch. So far we are 3/3 in save chances that Papelbon isn't aviable.
