Its just keeps getting better, again I say what a f***ing steal :o

Randy Moss reportedly accepted a one-year deal worth only $3 million, with $2 million in incentives.

A stunner. Moss was scheduled to make nearly $10 million from the Raiders, but he accepted the drastic paycut to play for a winner. Like the rest of the Patriots receiver group, Moss's future with New England is hardly guaranteed past this year.

Wow, Moss is taking a 6 million dollar paycut to come here (3 million base salary), there's no doubt he wants a ring badly and will definately keep in line.

Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Caldwell, Jackson, Gaffney is a very good, and deep receiving corps.

Aging malcontent? He just turned 30 and has been hurt by whoever's been throwing the ball in Oakland. Now he's got the arm of tom Brady behind him' date=' yea he just might be productive for us.[/quote']

How about him and Cris Carter yelling at Daunte Culpepper and the fact that he's gone on record saying he takes plays off sometimes?

Posted
There's something called a clause in his contract. One mess up by him and he'll be bye bye. He took a large pay cut to be on a winning team, and besides its just for 1 season. Culpepper is overrated, and the Raiders QBs are crap, he'll listen to Brady to help the team to the playoffs

Pioli, Kraft and Belichick should all be put in jail for this trade for robbery

the guy is not AGING, as he ran a 4.29 40 the other week and that was confirmed by the guys on ESPN. He is the most talented WR in the NFL right now, although Calvin Johnson is a close 2nd.

MALCONTENT?? Ya hes had trouble in the past, but hes really only had trouble when his teams struggling. Now that hes on the best team in football, i dont see anythin that he can argue about except for maybe not getting the ball enough. Which from listening to his conference call it doesnt sound like there will be any problems with him, for atleast this year.

He knows that this isnt HIS team, like it was in MIN. He knows Brady runs the offense and that he listens to him. he's already talked to Tom about it.

Cant wait for the season to start, i think this is the best Patriot teams on paper, ever.

Here's the problem. You don't win games on paper.

I think this makes the Patriots the favorites to win it all.

Thank god the Broncos picked up Dre Bly and now have Bates at D-Coordinator -- you shouldn't be able to torch us like you will most other teams. Champ can cover Moss without much problem and Bly can cover Stallworth -- but the Pats are, even if Cutler has a good year, still noticeably better than the Broncos.

Now, let's be realistic, though -- Stallworth is overrated. He's never reached the potential, and his potential and what he could eventually be is the only reason anybody knows his name. I'm also assuming Moss' struggles of late are more than just character issues and that he has lost a step since for that cheap, cheap price, there were still only three teams or so actually interested, which seems kind of suspicious. Don't expect the guy that destroyed teams when he came into the league -- don't expect the 42 catch Moss from last year either, though.

The Patriots have had a fantastic offseason and if Maroney stays healthy (I've heard question marks about the health of his shoulder), those two alone teamed up with Brady will be enough to fuel a high powered offense... and then you have Welker and Kelley Washington, whom I like a lot. If I was a bettin' man... I sure as hell wouldn't bet on Super Bowl winners. :D

... But the Pats are the favorites.

Not only are the Pats the favorites, as of now to win it all, but what sucks for every other team in the league is that we have 2 first round picks for next year, a second and 2 thirds. 5 1st day picks.

I think the one thing that could hurt this offense is how well Maroney and the offensive line do in the run game. They'll be able to win some games just throwing the ball, but they need to establish a good run game. I could see Maroney, if healthy, running for 1,150 yards this year. Little concerned about whos gonna be his backup. Sammy Morris doesnt really do it for me, but hopefully I'm wrong. The pass game could be the best in football. Brady should have career numbers next year throwing to Moss, Stallworth, Watson, Caldwell, Welker, Thomas, Gaffney, Washington and Jackson who could be a great WR if he uses his talent, when he comes back from his injury. Theres still Faulk to coming out of the backfield to catch some balls.

Defensively theyve filled alot of holes with Merriweather and Thomas. Theyre D-LINE is the one of the best in the NFL, they have 2 OLB's in Colvin and Thomas who are beasts coming off the edge, although neither are great defending the run. Vrabel and Bruschi the 2 veteran ILB's should be steady as usual running front 7. Bruschi's speeds been declining but i think the addition of Thomas should help him out since now he doesnt always have to cover for Banta-Cain getting beat on the outside. Id like to see Seau back to since we really dont have much depth at LB if someone was to get hurt or need a breather (Hartwell would be another option). I was really impressed with him last year. Get Samuel signed and we should have a solid group of CB. Hobbs improved last year and is a decent #2 corner. James i think could be a big help covering some of the bigger, possession WR and also help against 3 WR/4 WR formations. Could also see some time in the nickel D. It was only a couple years ago when he was a pro-bowler. Id expect Harrison to have a steady season as usual running the DB's and Eugene Wilson's back at FS hopefully he can pick up where he left off before his injury. He was really starting to become a very reliable safety. Merriweather is also available if Wilson moves to CB or under performs, but i think for atleast the start of next year Merriweather will be very valuable as a nickel back. Hawkins is also a reliable back-up who can play SS or FS and knows the system.

haha well theres probably my longest post ever

Patriots vs Denver this season... what a f***ing game that is looking to be, and this is still april we're in

I was talking with a pats fan and I tried to find a Patriot weakness. Punter. Thats it. Its gonna be a long season.

we still have Miller signed, and i think hes a very dependable punter.

Gostowski was lights out as a rookie kicking last year

Special teams looks good to

the biggest concern i have over every other concern is, INJURIES. Pats always seem to have more key injuries than any other team. Lets hope that this year that doesnt happen.

But even if it does, we have so much depth we can overcome them and win games.

Unless Brady goes down, we will be favorites to win the Super Bowl. Beckett95 basically said everything I was going to say, this team has no weakensses.

I must be dreaming. This has to be one of the biggest steals in the history of the NFL. We get Randy Moss for a 4th round pick. One of the greatest WR in NFL history for a 4th round pick. AND he takes a paycut of over $6 million, playing for a $3 million base next year. Holy f***ing s***. Give us our rings now so we don't have to steamroll the playoff teams next year. If someone told me that the Patriots would sign Welker, Washington, and Stallworth, I probably would have called them crazy. If they then added that we would also get Randy Moss for only $3 million for a 4th draft pick, while getting a 1st next year, I would have bet my entire life savings against it. WOW.

funny how the character issues disappear after blowing a huge lead in the afc title game and watching the great reche caldwell drop 2 1st downs....

moss is a f***ing jerk but he can catch

how this plays out is anyones guess because this guy has been nothing short of a f***ing douchebag his entire career but we have a way of making these jerk offs see the light or they get sent home

see terry glenn for more clarity on this subject.

i like the move

low risk low investment high potential return

The Pats have had the best offseason they've had for awhile! I like Moss, yeah he's had some problems, but at least its not TO! I believe this is a great pick up for the Pats

t.o put up good #s

randy moss had a pitiful season on a pitiful team

id rather have moss because hes less of a douchbag

I would agree, but TO dropped alot this year too! More so then he has his whole career!

I think Belichek knows how to coach the big headed superstars! This is gonna be a good thing for Tom and the rest of the offense

Yeah it is! This guy was absolutely incredible in High School! Bobby Bowden said he was just like Deion Sanders! He was only 2 tenths of a second slower in the forty! I remember watching him and Jason Williams tear it up in High School!
