Kay is all over Lugo for that play, but the culprit is Youks IMO. That was not a tough pick and his stab at it with the backhand technique just doesn't cut it.

That seems in stark contrast to our discussions during the pre/offseason when people were doing pitcher vs. pitcher comparisons and most Yankee fans around here tried to argue that he was EASILY the best pitcher on either the Sox or Yankees' date=' doesn't it?[/quote']

No, it doesnt. At the time, you had a sinking Schilling and a whacky Beckett. Both of those guys capable of being absolutely dominant or blowing it badly. Wang is not as capable of dominating, but he is more capable of not blowing it. And he had better #s last season than both.

No, its in stark contrast. A "sinking" Schilling finished in the top of the league in a number of categories, throwing 204 IP and had a better ERA than, say, Jeremy Bonderman who the Yankees would happily take at this point.

The point is that NO argument at the time was enough to dissuade those who were ready to poo-poo the redsox rotation while bringing up that Wang finished 2nd in the AL Cy young vote.

The only time I find high definition television a bad thing is when they show shots of Jason Giambi.

Yeah, cause Tavarez is a BEAUTIFUL person. :D

Nice K Hideki.

Dude, Wang had a 3.6ERA, well below Schill's. Cmon now. And would I want Wang or Bonderman? Wang all the way.
