Last season, the Blue Jays were a thorn in Boston's side. Now, Reed Johnson is on the DL for two months, BJ Ryan is there too, and Troy Glaus is out as well. This is a tremendous time for the Sox to carry the hot bats into Toronto and put a few games with the Jays behind them. With Beckett starting yesterday, the rotation has Schilling, Beckett, and Matsuzaka all going against the Yanks at the Fens this coming weekend. Let's win these games and take on the Yanks and their catastrophe of a rotation with 3 more wins under our belt! GO SOX!

That blue jay looks dead, let's kill another blue jay today.

Glaus' date=' Reed Johnson, and BJ Ryan were just DL'd. Ryan is out 4-6 weeks, Glaus could be out a month and Johnson is out til July. If there was ever a time to face them, it is now.[/quote']

Really? That's awesome!

As good as Hinske has looked, I'd like to see a lineup tonight of:

Lugo

Youks

Ortiz

Manny

Drew

Lowell

WMP

Tek

Pedroia

I agree, atleast let Cerrano get a few games in to see if there is any chance he might beable to find his swing...We aleady know Coco can't find it, I think he needs a shrink or something...

gustavo always pitches us hard, so hopefully with the injuries and the extra days rest the matsuzaka can dominate and we can pull out a win in this one

My take is that Pedroia should be batting 2nd, not Coco. At least he makes contact, hard to strike out, and takes a lot of pitches. This is the lineup featured on yahoo's box score. Yeaa so Youk is now in the 5 hole, with Coco taking over in the #2 spot :thumbdown Great move Tito, dont put a struggling batter in an important spot such as in front of Ortiz/Manny. I just dont see the logic

Daisuke Matsuzaka (1st career appearance vs Toronto)

Alex Rios ---

Adam Lind ---

Vernon Wells ---

Frank Thomas ---

Lyle Overbay ---

Aaron Hill ---

Gregg Zaun ---

Royce Clayton ---

Jason Smith

Gustavo Chacin (7 games vs Boston, 5-0 record with a 4.29 ERA---Career at Rogers Centre in 28 games, 15-7 record with a 4.50 ERA)

Julio Lugo, 4 for 15 (.267 avg) Double, 2 RBIs, K, SB

Coco Crisp, 3 for 7 (.429 avg) K, SB

David Ortiz, 5 for 16 (.313 avg) Double, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs, 2 Walks, 2 Ks

Manny Ramirez, 2 for 11 (.182 avg) 3 Walks

Kevin Youkilis, 2 for 10 (.200 avg) Triple, 2 Walks, 2 Ks

Mike Lowell, 3 for 9 (.333 avg) 2 Doubles, Walk, K

Jason Varitek, 3 for 13 (.231 avg) 2 RBIs, 2 Walks, 2 Ks

Wily Mo Pena, 2 for 5 (.400 avg) Double, Walk

Dustin Pedroia, 0 for 4, Walk

///

Alex Cora, 1 for 2 (.500 avg) RBI

Doug Mirabelli, 0 for 2

For what it's worth, Coco Crisp does have very good numbers batting second.

Batting #2 502 88 159 37 3 14 60 37 0 66 13 5 .317 .360 .486 .846

I'm skeptical that these numbers mean anything, but maybe... :dunno:

And that is why you GIVE WILY MO AT BATS.

I want adam123 and all the other haters to kiss Wily Mo's ass, right here, right now. I know it was only one homer, but my God, they wrote him off at the beginning of the season.
