Well...since BoSox34 hasn't started today's gamethread yet (only 30 minutes until first pitch), I've decided that it's time for some SCHILLINGOUTTHEKS MOJO! Let's go back to Fenway with at least 2/3 from Texas. Who the hell is Robinson Tejada? Our offense needs to work this guy and grind that bullpen. Don't let Otsuka take the ball with a lead in the ninth. Let's get 'er done! GO SOX!

Teams: Boston Red Sox (2-1) @ Texas Rangers (0-3)

First Pitch: 2:05pm EDT

I very worried about Wake in this one. He always seems to get lit up in Texas, which doesn't bode well for us today. Maybe because the temps are cooler than normal the air won't be so dry and Wake's Knucler will actually dance.

Thanks "Schill". I just hope Wake's knuckleball does enough: 5-7 innings, 3 runs (maybe 4) or less and also hope that the Sox bats wake up and give him some rare run support. Since 2005 that is what has hurt him getting the W's

Robinson Tejeda (1st career appearance vs Boston---Career at Ameriquest Field in 5 games, 0-3 record with a 7.17 ERA)

Mike Lowell, 0 for 2, Walk, K

Tim Wakefield (28 games vs Texas, 7-13 record & 4 saves with a 6.08 ERA---Career at Ameriquest Field in 15 games, 4-10 record with a 5.95 ERA)

Kenny Lofton, 15 for 58 (.259 avg) 2 Doubles, Triple, HR, 6 RBIs, 8 Ks, 7 SBs

Frank Catalanotto, 15 for 45 (.333 avg) 4 Doubles, 3 HRs, 9 RBIs, 4 Walks, 5 Ks, 2 SBs

Michael Young, 7 for 29 (.241 avg) Double, 2 HRs, 6 RBIs, 3 Walks, 4 Ks

Mark Teixeira, 5 for 24 (.208 avg) HR, 3 RBIs, 2 Walks, 5 Ks

Sammy Sosa, 2 for 12 (.167 avg) Double, HR, RBI, 3 Ks

Hank Blalock, 6 for 26 (.231 avg) 2 Doubles, 2 RBIs, 2 Walks, 3 Ks

Brad Wilkerson, 4 for 8 (.500 avg) Double, Walk, 2 Ks, SB

Gerald Laird, 0 for 3, K

Ian Kinsler, 0 for 4, 2 Ks

///

Jerry Hairston, 2 for 24 (.083 avg) Double, RBI, 4 Ks

Good comparison from NESN about this year's bullpen. Last season in the first series the Sox bullpen already had a 4.32 ERA. This year's pen has allowed 2 runs in 10 innings, a 1.80 ERA. They have also just allowed 6 hits in that span, no walks and striking out 8

Youk with a one out walk, let's see if Ortiz can crush his first of the season to tie it up.

Edit- Maybe not, Ortiz looks powerless so far this year.

This is pathetic, we are letting guys like Meche, Grienke, and Tejeda shut us down. Does anybody want to do Helton for Delcarmen, Hansen, Lowell?

Sox had chance to do a Delcarmen, Lowell, Tavarez trade for Helton... but Theo held back because of the young "talent" in Delcarmen. Colorado called the talks dead once Theo wouldnt comply.

Wakefield crusing through 11 batters, here comes a win! Oh wait no these are the Sox's off days for offense

EDIT: Yep haha Drew makes a 1st pitch out on Tejada in the 7th, 68 pitches
