I would take Oden over Durant any day. It is much harder to find a pure center then a power forward. + in order to win in the NBA you need to build your team around a Guard or a Big Man, other then Duncan in the last 20 years I cannot think of another PF that led his team to a championship.

bird played pseudo point forward but could get 10 boards a nite

barkley was a power frwd as was karl malone

 

nba championships are won by teams that have hall of fame calibre talent at more than 1 position

consider the lakers with shaq and kobe

the bulls with michael and pippin and rodman

last years heat with wade and oneil

sanantone has duncan but also tony parker(not hall of fame material but good) and ginobli as well as a cast of role players who know their job

 

it takes more than 1 guy for sure

one guy can make others around him good enough to make the playoffs. To win it all, you need more than one guy.

In response to the tampering charge, I think the Celtics should be forced to forfeit their first round pick, and have it swung to the Knicks. Come on Stern, make this happen. You know you want the Knicks to win for the next 15 years.
