First' date=' Linda makes a useless post that is meant to aggravate. But for some reason, I personally think you like it, but have to respond, dragging up more s*** that doesn't belong here. This after, you've stated time and time again, that you're done with this crap and you're putting them on your ignore list. When you've been advised and told to stop this. You keep dragging it out. You feel compelled to respond to anything that's posted, whether it's relevant, you have any incite on the subject, or post even belongs at this site.[b'] I'm asking the mod's to ban you and this Linda ( he, she , it ). [/b] Anyone that agrees feel free to psot a response.

Being someone who who doesn't post on a regular basis (until recently) I'm not sure if I should have a "say so". I've been out here, read a lot and just didn't post for a while. At any rate......

I don't get Fred, never have. A "current" Red Sox fan; fighting w/ Dodger fans on their own board and questioning their knowledge and that resulting in some Dodger trolls coming over here and posting crap. Saying the ordeal is over and he'll no longer respond to some Dodger fans but continuing to do so. I think he should have taken the week off like he offered, to cool down. But it continues.

I'm a life long Sox fan. I don't get switching loyalties to teams, I don't trust it. I don't post on any other team's boards b/c I don't care what they think about anything (I will respond to them out here, especially if they're trolling).

There are some decent NYY fans who post regularly out here (did I just say that??? :o ha ha). And I'm still trying to learn about others.

That's my 2 cents that possibly adds up to zero. Just wanted to respond to Sox Fan on Cape, he's seems like a good guy and is obviously very generous and popular.

Peace to all and GO SOX IN 2007!!!!!!!!

Ok, to show that I meant to start nothing by that at all I will take not only a week off, but I will take a while month off from this board. I'm still puzzled as to why some of you think I wanted this pissing contest to continue. Nothing could be farther from the truth. As for me being a "current" Red Sox fan I have explained repeatedly how that came about. I'm only sorry I didn't become one before but my love of that team should not be questioned at all. I will tell the moderators that I will not post again until February 19th. I just don't understand how some of you could be thinking I was trying to cause trouble when I was actually praising someone I had differences with. It makes no sense. I will notify the moderators of my decision. I will look in from time to time but will not post anything at all for a month. I hope that quells some of the suspicions you have for me

As far as that Dodger Board I had a friend who posted there and he thought as a Los Angeles resident that it would be a good board to post on. It was a bad mistake.

Thanks Fred....no offense....

Man, I feel like Patton when he gave a speech to the English ladies and failed to mention Russia and got accused to being nasty to our ally and was sent home. No, I'm going off this board for a month. I hope when I return most of you will see that I am only interested in supporting the Red Sox and nothing else.

Well, to each his/her own. Kind of an extreme comparison (Patton had stress beyond belief, understandably), but like I said, to each his/her own. Good luck and God Speed. By Feb 19.....pitchers and catchers will have reported, more baseball stuff to talk about.

4) That ball actually did have some weird spin on it. You can see the last hop kind of skips low instead of coming up. If Buckner takes it on his knee, he probably doesn't make the play to first in time. Buckner's knees probably don't allow for him to charge the ball hard.

Yeah the ball did have a weird hop, just like a lot of ground balls do if you've ever played in the infield before. Which is why your supposed to put the glove on the ground and if it hops up then your body blocks it. Instead he lifted his glove and it went under it because he was trying to play the hop instead of just stopping the ball. Buckner didn't have to charge the ball, he could have knocked it down and crawled to the bag before the runner got there.

Awful play and theres no way to excuse it but its not what cost them the game because the game was already tied at that point.

WHO GIVES A FLYING f*** ABOUT BILL BUCKNER. THE SOX WON THEIR WORLD SERIES. WHO CARES IF HE PLAYED IN LA, HIS CURSE HAS LIFTED! Buckner can now be said in Boston without someone trying to punch you.

Buckner didn't cost the Red Sox the world series that year, and there's no reason that he ever needed to be forgiven...

Buckner didn't cost the Red Sox the world series that year' date=' and there's no reason that he ever needed to be forgiven...[/quote']Look up his LOB in game 6. He still holds some kind of record for that. He also left a ton of guys on in the entire series. If got just 1 hit with runners in scoring position in game 6, the Red Sox would have won in a blowout. He never admitted that he let down his team by not performing and attempted to downplay his role in losing that series. That is why he was taken to task by the fans.

BTW: Those who died between 1986 and October 2004 never forgave him.
