pats fans play the victim??

why

because we didnt bitch about missing harrison colvin and then being down to guys like alexander playing linebacker and a couple of dbax,1 named baker i think??

because we dont call the commisionars office and demand an explanation why the interference was called on hobbs but not caldwell

then demand a rule change??

then get it

or

because we congradulate the winners without bitching about their lack of class or how they celebrated??

no man

we got beat fair and square straight up and thats that

no whining no crying and yeah theres some bitching but its of the internal nature rather than being misdirected into an excuse as to why the colts are on top today

many of us thought last week in sandiego was our superbowl

i think the physical nature and the urgency spent on that game was a factor

whatever

if you told me we'd be in the afc championship with the scatine they gave brady to work with this summer i wouldve laffed

it is what it is

a loss

a hard loss to swallow

but ive seen worse before and i suspect i'll see worse again

after all

im a fan

Let me amend my statement to say that a lot, not all, play the victim better than anyone else.

I just saw it laugahble when he posted "put a dent in Brady's playoff record". Its gonna take more losses than that to ruin his playoff record. Uh-oh I said another thing pro-Brady. You can bash that if you want, I also have stuttered since I was 10 years old so feel free to bash that too.

The Pats beat themselves last night, the defense just gave up. Youre not gonna win a lot of games when your defense gives up 32 points in the 2nd half. From posts Ive seen from non-Pats fans, there seems to be a belief that Tom Brady is no longer to be scared of when the game is on the line in the 4th quarter. The Pats will still be back with Brady at the helm next season to make another run for the playoffs, plain & simple.

omfg... you're gonna tell me that after all i said, that's what offended you most!? so brady is 12-2...before he was 12-1...do you know what a dent is? given the nature of single-game elminations in the nfl, it will take awhile for brady's precious post-season record to be tarnished...easy pat fan, im not tryin to mock you, rest assured his legacy is safe since i doubt he'll still be around for another 10 losses in a row.

It's not like the Pats came out and completely s*** the bed. The Colts were not going to be stopped in that second half. What Peyton Manning and the Colts were able to do was something special to watch, really. It had nothing to do with the Patriots choking. They didn't play a bad second half at all.

Biggest choke in NFL Championship game history. Chokers.

I'm guessing this ridiculous post is simply the misguided frustration of a Giants or Jets fan.

Take yer pick.

wow

someone ate a hot cup of balls and stupidity for lunch

choking??

something your avatar and team know an awful lot about as you wrote the book on the single biggest collapse since the goths sacked rome 1600 years ago

why would you ever in your right mind be so s*** off f***ing stupid to write something like this being a yankee fan??

never mind

i answered my own question

I think ARod2212 said that tongue in cheek due to the ribbing his baseball team gets for '04. I don't think he was serious, but I do think he wanted to get under your skin a little. Those of you that responded gave him exactly what he wanted.

the similarities are astounding. Best team of the decade, choking away a big, HISTORIC lead to a nemesis who always falls in head to head vs them. The Colts are the football version of the 04 sox. Therefore, the Pats just made the football choke of the century.

teams have blown 18 pt leads before, worse in fact

i remember houston blowing a 30 point lead in buffalo in the playoffs

i remember the bruins blowing a 5-1 lead against montreal in the semi finals

the sacramento kings blew a 22 point lead in the 2nd half of a game 7 against la

the americans beat the russians

the arabs had a stalemate against israel in 73

the soviet union is now russia again after losing in afghanland

the mission is still being accomplished in iraq

the french surrendered paris in 40 days of combat with the biggest standing army in the world

mao beat chek

mihn beat nixon and johnson

chang beat lendl

becker beat lendl

ashe beat connors

nobody has or ever will surpass what the sox and yankees combined to do in 04

nobody in 140 years of documented competetive baseball can surpass that collapse

the fact that youre comparing a 2nd half collapse by a 3 point underdog who lost 2 games in a row to this team at home

to a 4 game meltdown with the last 2 in nyc isnt prudent logical or close to being the same thing

but i do appreciate the banter

The Yankees aren't the best team of the decade that started in 2001.

Just so you know, the Patriots weren't favored. They put up 34 points. That's the most points ever put up by a team in the postseason and not being enough to win. I don't call an underdog losing a choke. The Colts just flat out exploded, and no one could nor was going to stop them. Not the Chargers, not the Ravens, not even the Colts themselves. I bet the Bears wouldn't have been able to stop them either.

By the way, if we're talking chokes... like Crunchy said, look at the Houston Oilers vs. the Buffalo Bills. The lead was bigger, and the momentum swing was completely 180 degrees, unlike the Pats/Colts game. The Pats still played well, the Colts played like no team I have ever seen before nor expect to see ever again.

How are the Colts the 04 Sox? The Colts were basically everyone's AFC picks this year.

at the beginning of the yr, MANY people picked the sox to win the WS in 04. Then they lost out to the yankees for the top seed and then shocked the world by coming back from an umprecedented deficit. Now all the colts have to do is absolutely destroy the Bears and the similarity will be striking.

I figured I'd set off the firestorm. Yes, it was tongue in cheek. Just making the point that I think team's "choking" takes away from the other team's brilliant comeback.

The Patriots didn't choke, they got outplayed by the Colts when it counted. Same thing in '04 in my mind.

I know for a fact 34 points is not the highest total scored by a losing team in the postseason.

The Oilers were up 35-3 against the Bills.

And here I thought the Chargers, being the #1 SEED, and having the most talent, etc. etc. were the favorite.

Or, I guess, you could take the media darlings the New England Patriots.

What happened to the criticism's of the Colts' run D?

I got your point, we did lay it on a bit in 04'. Aside from the obvious difference of being different sports, we're talking about one half versus 4 straight games. There is a difference.

Geez, this forum would be pretty fukin boring if nobody responded to anyone else because "that's what they wanted." Even most valued posts are written seeking a response...the nature of the forum is give and take, discussion, ballbreaking, etc.

BTW, our responses might have been a bit tongue in cheek themselves, let's not be lead to believe that Mr. Crunchy or I or anyone else that responded actually takes this sh*t that seriously...its fkn entertainment, that's all.

Bill Parcells, "the Tuna", has retired from coaching. I'll never forgive him for just ditching the Pats and taking Curtis Martin with him. But eh he did build the Patriots back into a more respectable team in his days. Always loved seeing him go after Drew on the sidelines

well what a surprise owens is glad parcells is gone

The tried and true, "this is a forum, it's meant to share opinions...etc." notification. Thanks, that never occured to me. FWIW, I wasn't scolding anyone for responding; I just merely chucked my $0.02 into the community wishing well.

? I hope I'm missing the sarcasm

Are you serious?

All I hear about is "doing things the Patriots way" and "they're the model franchise" blah blah f***ing blah.
