NFL Playoff Game Thread - 2006 Season

it was a FANTASTIC GAME. So many people use hyperbole for great comebacks. But most of the time, one team melts and the other team surges. The Pats were still scoring in the second half, hell they scored 13 points in the second half, which is not paltry. But the Colts had just a little more. WHAT A GAME!!!

I knew Peyton had some clutch in him. He made some great, clutch throws in this game. Amazing game. Patriots defense never had a chance in the second half.

Great game, Peyton will get his shot. Wouldv'e been a great win for us but the alst drive was just meant to be I guess. I enver expected we'd get this far considering it's our weakest team in quite awhile. Whatever, on to the off-season. Go Bears.

Exactly this is all about bitter rivalries. The Colts have swideswiped the Jets to take over as the Pats' evil twin. Think Sox fans rooted on the Yanks because they made an unbelievable comeback against the Sox in Game 7? f*** no we cheered on Beckett & the Marlins

Wow...where was Brady to meet Manning at midfield after the final gun? I thought for sure he'd be there. I hope I just missed it or it wasn't shown...if he went right back to the locker room, that's some serious poor sportsmanship.

Same with The Hoodie, hardly even acknowledging Manning. Thumbs down, Bill.

Did he shake Mannings hand? I don't see how I would have missed it. I'm a Brady fan, I'd hope that it was just an oversight by me.

The Belichick thing was a definite snub, however. Show some class, Hoodie.

he hugged Dungy, and he did acknowledge Manning, so though it looked a little insincere, but we don't know what was said or how BB reacted.

This game is just getting sad' date=' this is the best the Colts can bring? I think this proves to the non-Pat fans that the Patriots are a different team compared to the one that lost to the team they are playaing against right now[/quote']

LOL. Cry me a f***ing river, 3 in 6 is still good.

If Manning wins, he'll go down as the greatest QB of all time. ALL TIME.

Seriously, what a f***ing game.

I completely agree with what you say about Manning. He wins this game and when he retires, he'll be looked at as the greatest.

The one thing holding him back is playoff failure.

If Marino won one, he'd be the best ever, not Montana.

If Manning gets his, he's #1.

First off, hats off to Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. What a GREAT comeback win. As much as I hate Peyton Manning and the Colts, they totally deserved it. I'm glad Peyton finally gets his shot, but I will be rooting for the Bears, it's just the nature of a Patriots fan. As for Tom Brady ... I was pretty disappointed in him. It looked like he pulled an LT and went to the locker room early. I hope I'm wrong, but I missed the handshake as well. And you sure as hell know that the media would have been all around it. It looked like Manning was looking for Brady in the crowd...

The Patriots never had a chance in the second half. Peyton Manning totally deserves this chance at the superbowl. I hate the guy, but my God do I respect him. He totally bounced back from the INT in the first half and looked like the Manning that Colts fans have come to love. The guy is, in my eyes, the best quarterback in the NFL (and that's coming from a Pats fan...:o). And I agree with what's been said. If Peyton wins this superbowl he's the best quarterback the NFL has EVER seen.

As for Caldwell...yeah he had a pretty s***** game, but he's a keeper. If not for him, we wouldn't have even been playing today, and the Jets probably would have been AFC East champions. I expect and want to see him back in a Patriots uniform, along with Jabar Gaffney and Chad Jackson. I don't know if they'll bring Brown back, but if they do, he's their insurance option and 4th receiver.

People need to get off BB's case. For f***'s sake he hugged Dungy and acknowledged Manning. It may have looked a little insincere, but he'll probably make up for it in a press conference or a private telephone call.

With that being said, congrats to the Colts (you bastards), and go Bears! :)

Is he supposed to French Kiss the opposing coach to show sincerity?

Totally agree. I'm going to go bat s*** if I see one Pats fan complain about this game. We've won 3 superbowls in 6 years. Do you think that a 4th superbowl APPEARANCE out of 6 years was likely? Get a grip guys. The Pats won't lost much of a step from this year, they'll get healthier, and the young guys will be better. It's going to be another hell of a year next year.

Think about it, if the Pats won the superbowl this year they would have won 4 of the record 5 superbowls, in a span of 6 years. This just doesn't happen. You guys have got to come around and realize that the glory days are coming to an end. We had our ride, and nows the point where we endure some heartache. It's other teams' turns this time.

No...but a heartfelt handshake never hurt anyone. You can tell sincerity when you see it, and it was totally absent when he encountered Manning. No one is suggesting anything over the top, but an exchange with class, dignity, and respect is expected. It's been done for years...why's Hoodie any different?

Why would anyone expect him to be one right after he loses?

Most Pats fans are acting like faggots. Give Manning and the Colts some credit. They played well, they played hard, they deserved it. They flat out beat us.

That being said I won't complain if Manning and the Colts win it all. That'll bring this whole rivalry to an entirely new level that would just be f***ing sweet.
