Sorry, I meant lymphoma. Typo on my end. Either way, it is relatively treatable and has a high survival rate.

it also has a high recurrence rate. This is something that Lester will have to worry about for awhile, but they caught it in time. I hope he never gets a recurrence. The kid sounds like a real good guy, and winning a bout with cancer is certainly a character and life building experience. I may not be a sox fan, but I sure hope he can become a star (maybe not on the sox lol) so that he can enhance cancer awareness.

A source said that Lester's cancer is in remission and is expected to be in ST for 2007. FANTASTIC NEWS. GOOD LUCK JON! This is a lifelong fight but the early returns are very good.

Jackson, as one who was diagnosed with low grade lymphoma myself January of 2005 I can understand and revel in Jon's progress and think it great that he is just about cancer free. His was more critical than mine is but I guess his his curable, mine is treatable, goes away, comes back, and so on. I only hope that we don't rush Jon back until he is fully capable of doing so. I know people who have been on chemo and it takes a lot out of you. Since he is young he is strong enough to take it and come back stronger. I still feel a little guilty as how I got on his case last August in Anaheim when he seemed to be struggling on the mound and seemed to be hard-pressed to pitch at all. If I knew that he was hurting I would have kept my tongue. Thank goodness he is going to be ok. That alone should make all of RSN happy. On another happy note, what do you think of the Drew and Lugo signings? I have been in good spirits all day, except, of course, dealing with our troll intruders.

Of course I can, or I would wish him dead. Try learning to read. Go read the post. Again. Then bring your friends over to discuss it. Analyze it. Then you will see that although I do hate the Sox, and wish that all their players play horribly and they finish in last place every season...I wish no ill will towards them personally healthwise, or really any which way outside of between the lines of a baseball field.

The very fact that I have to explain this to you shows you lack an ability to comprehend normal human interaction. When was the last time you actually left your house?

I find it funny that you insult my reading ability. I said you had a desire for them to be in good health, so I'm not doubting your sincerity there. Someone with strong reading ability would have easily seen that in what I wrote. You just can't separate that desire from your hatred, hence the unnecessary comment about him bombing on the field. If you were able to separate the two, you would have just said, "Get well, Jon".

You are a really simple person. Everything is binary to you. The world of "human interaction" you claim to know so much about isn't black and white like that. There are many shades of gray in between, and that is where you get lost in the conversation.

Oh, and, according to you, you wanted to stop taking shots at each other, something I have refrained from doing. Looks like you can't avoid doing that either. That's fine if you want it that way, but don't ask for a truce because you can't take the heat and then be the first to start throwing stones again.

I wish that he gets better because he is a human being. I also wish that he stinks up the joint since he is a Red Sox. Although there is no real connection, I put it both of them out there. Too bad you have a problem with it.

Of course I separate the two, I just chose to post both.

On a slightly different track, I felt more sorry Mr. Stranger than I did for Mr. Lidle. Both were in the plane, but Mr. Stranger left an infant and his wife was 5 months pregnant. Needless to say, he didn't make the money Lidle did, and wasn't getting a handout from MLB like the Lidle family.

You didn't hear too much about Mr. Stranger. Sad.

Guys, I understand that you're having a back and forth here, but for Christ sakes it's a get well thread for Lester. Can we AT LEAST try to keep the back and forth out of this one thread?

For the record, Gom, a "get well, Lester" would have been fine. You've made it clear many, many times that you despise the Red Sox, and with the nature of the rivalry, that's fine, but you don't need to tell us once again. Especially in a thread about one of our player's health. I know you didn't mean any harm, but come on man, it's a thread about his health and baseball rivalries and baseball are secondary to everything else right now.

On that note, let's just stop the arguing.

Lester's a trooper, and I wish him the best. I just want this kid to live a long, happy life first and foremost. He will be a changed man after this. Great, great news.
