I've never seen people explode like that in my life. The Mets were frauds all year anyway... what a collapse in the post-season. This team was 15 games better than the Cardinals and still failed to pull through.

What a bunch of whiners. Sure, getting eliminated sucks, we've known that for a LONG time, but my God I don't think we've ever s*** our pants like that...

That forum hurts my eyes. Avatars the size of small countries and huge ass images everywhere. I can't even read the text to scoff at it.

They were lucky that they got as far as they did with a one man pitching rotation. The incredible thing to me is if they did give away game 2, they would be going to the World Series. I think they got a bit arrogant after the cake-walk of a regular season, the 3 game sweep of LA., and the game 1 victory over the Cards. I can understand the Mets fans being disappointed. Everything pointed to it being their year all year long, and then it was gone with the swing of Yadier Molina's bat. It was a Bucky Dent moment.

hear a discussion on the radio regarding Willie...does Willie Randolph = Grady Little?

I say no. GRady had a 5-2 lead and left his starter in beyond the point where he woulda pulled him all year AND ignored the fact that he had a BP that hadn't given a run up in a long time (Embree, Timlin, Williamson).

Not surprised. The Mets simply just chocked this year. They should have easily put away St Louis they were 15 wins better than the Cardinals and still failed to beat them. But that is what happens when you face a team who's pitcher come through when they need to. Don't get me wrong the Mets pitched well too but the Cardinals did something the Mets couldn't do and that was take advantage of the mistakes that were made. There is no reason why a team like the Mets couldn't get any runs in the 6th when they had the bases loaded and 0 out. It was just a complete collapse by the Mets and they didn't deserve to win this series.

Umm....1986? 1978? 1967? This years 5 game series against the Yankees? Getting swept by the White Sox last year? In fact, every year since 1918 except for 2004?

Hello? This is planet earth? Come in Shillingouttheks...

You can't really say the Mets were frauds. They lost two of their top three starters. How far you think the Red Sox can go without Schilling and Wakefield? Or the Yankees without Mussina and Wang?

The fact that they made it a seven game series was amazing. There was no doubt in my mind that the Cards were the better team due to the Mets injuries. Do you think the Cards would have had a chance if Capenter AND Suppan were out with injuries?

That being said....a note from our sponsor:

A-Rod Light salutes you, Mr. Baseball Franchise guy. Come up to the plate with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th in game seven, World Series dreams of your team and city in your hands. So on an 0-2 pitch, just look at it as it crosses the heart of the plate, never even protecting the plate. Don't even give your team a chance by putting the ball in play. Just watch it, Mr. Baseball Franchise guy. We salute you.

Brought to you by A-Rod Light, Evil Empire, Bronx, N.Y.

As ORS said, I was referring to the behavior of the fans.

I don't buy into the fact that the loss of Pedro was a huge deal. Look, I know anytime you lose a guy like Pedro it hurts, but he was injured a few times during the season and the Mets were still able to move right along. The loss of El Duque hurt because of his post-season experience and the fact that they were banking on him. The Mets had no problem taking care of the Dodgers, but when they run into a team that was 15 games worse than them during the season they folded. Hell, Jeff Suppan was the NLCS MVP. The Mets got dominated by JEFF SUPPAN. Whenever Jeff Suppan is your NLCS MVP, it's quite indicative of the skill of the league you play in.

 The A-Rod Light thing made me laugh a bit. It's way too true.

I remember that thread, lol. There are moronic fans from every team.

Thanks Schillingouttheks. I try to bring a little humor. Although you are all hated Red Sox scum, this is by far the best forum I am a part of, Yankee or Red Sox based. It seems so far to have the highest intelligence level, both IQ-wise and baseball-wise. It is unfortunate you are degenerates, though, rooting for the putrid Sox.

Seriously, I am glad you enjoy my humor, and considering that we have to watch two weeks of Jeff Weaver and Kenny Rogers makes me want to beat my dog, I have to vent here.
