Timlin continues to back up his statement

Timlin, while not pleased with the results, was pleased with the way he threw the ball and his pitch selection.

``It was a good pitch," said Timlin of his offering to Beltre. ``It was 3-4 inches outside. I felt it was where I wanted to go or at least where it ended up I thought it was safe. I guess he was looking out there.

``I threw the ball exceptionally well. I can look at myself in the mirror and know I did exactly what I wanted and I got beat."

i think we need to casually and appreciatively show Timlin and Trot Nixon the door this offseason. They were keys to our team for a long time, but their era is up.

If Tito was smart, he'd hand the ball to Foulke in the 8th inning. Hell Id like to see him give more opportunities to MDC

I rarely bash Tito directly, but to automtaically bring Timlin in the 8th inning of any close game where the team isn’t behind is really not good managing.

It's like raising the white flag.

Yeah, its basically respect to a veteran. Respect sometimes seems to be more important to Tito than winning. But hey, this is a professional baseball team afterall, wins and losses aren't everything.

What I don't understand is Tito had dropped it down to Timlin/Foulke/paps for the 7th/8th/9th just a few games ago (paps came in for a 4 out save). Timlin got out of the jam in the 7th, but that was not that good of a thing seeing that he got himself into the bases loaded jam. Tito apparently views that as a great improvment as he goes right back to the set up man.....the fact that he thinks that way scares me!

I can understand tito last year sticking with Millar when he was struggling--Millar was a big part of the character of this team, ect... and he wasn't chucking games down the sewer. however blindly sticking with timlin when it's continually the main factor in us blowing games down the stretch is just mind boggling.

What do you think Timlins deal is? Just a slump? Hes jsut not good anymore? Or you think its the WBC? I have no idea but he went down the shitter fast.

He just isn't good anymore. He is old and washed up. they should DFA him but they likely won't because it would be an embarassment to him.

I don’t give a rat’s ass about Timlin’s comments to the media. What I do care about is Tito’s insistence to continue to bring him out in close games that are winnable and ignoring the fact that he’s been downright awful this month. Until Tito realizes he just isn’t that setup guy he was a couple of years ago, I blame these recent losses, where Timlin has blown the game, more on Tito than the pitcher.

I will give Timlin the benefit of the doubt on one thing--last night that pitch to Beltre was a good pitch. It was def low and away and beltre did a great job getting it. However the rest of the inning was crap. At that point it was tied, it was timlin who then got worse and lost the game

After being there to watch Timlin lose the game in Seattle, and while thinking about his dumbass remarks, its time to DFA timlin.

I would imagine he's just getting old and his arm has had it.
