I don't think you are going to have to worry about seeing Orlando Cabrera playing in October. The A's have, I believe, a 5.5 game lead and have a pretty similar team to the Angels. I don't see the Angels making up that much ground in one month.

The Dodgers lead the season series against those two (8-7 vs. AZ and 10-3 vs. CO). I don't care if the Padres have the Dodgers' numbers, but the team that really worries me is the Giants.

actually i DO think the padres owning the dodgers is something to be concerned about. the gnats are the gnats, and while they're no longer in dead last, they've gained ground on us by playing teams that are'nt very good, outside of cincinatti that is. we'd be in a better position, up by 4 or 5 games, had we not gotten swept the san diego. head to head, we're 5-1 against san fran in the month of august, and 10-6 for the season...i know, nothin to get overly excited about, but since the dodger went on their big winning streak, they've been nothin more than an afterthought. at best, they'll finish third behind either us or san diego.

i dont think its completely impossible...the angels are 6-6 head to head against them, even when they had an unstable rotation...but with 7 games left to go against them, and with the pitching in better shape, if they can get their bats heated up and win or split the bulk of series leading up to those games, they still have a chance. the A's are not the yanks, and therefore i doubt they'll pull away completely.

Moose, this might make you feel better. In every year the Dodgers have won the NL Pennant since their first one in 1916, they have beaten the Giants in every season series except 1952. In fact, even when the win just the division they take care of the Giants, except for 1983. The Dodgers currently are 10-6 against the Giants and 4-2 in San Francisco. When they win up there they always do well. Sorry, I missed out on Colorado. I was thinking of some other team.
