What positives come out of this game, even if we win?

 

Maybe we'll gain ground, but what positives can you take away from this team's display this evening?

Not only that it would be the 4th straight come from behind win and last time we had won a game by more than 1 run was on July 25. If the D-Rays & Royals are playing them like this, how does that bode for their stretch of mid August to early September?

 

Not well. But if we can turn the corner and get our game on again, it's possible to get through that stretch.

 

I HAVE to hold on to my optimism. I simply refuse to give it up this early in the season. Baseball is an infuriatingly frustrating game with all teams having hot and cold streaks. We've definitely been in a frigid streak... it's got to get better.

Regardless of the outcome, this game is a microcosm of the sox season lately. Their starting pitching hands over a deficit to the pen with too many innings to go. The pen is getting burned and they have gone from being a strength to a major deficit. If the sox need to rely on 9th inning heroics every game, then they will be 10 out by the time this season is through. If the sox starters continue this downward trend, there will be no October.

I meant out of the team's play. They played like absolute s***. I don't see anything satisfying in a win tonight. I'll be happy with a win, but if they continue to win like tonight, it's nothing special at all. In fact, it's like we're stealing wins. The Guardians were a Bob Wickman away from sweeping us in 4 games.
