He looked like someone who has missed a lot of time and really didn't have any chance to rehab against live batting.

 

The good news is that he looked like he wasn't playing in pain or that the knee was bothering him. To that end I was pleased.

Why? Are you tired of him because he didnt throw a no hitter last night? Tired of him for being hurt? Tired of him WANTING to play for this team instead of packing it in? Tired of him competing? Tired of how well he pitched last year? Tired of the fact that he just might be there best option to round out this rotation?

Did anyone notice Terry Franconas mannerisms when he pulled the hook on Wells last night, and Wells reaction? Francona gave him no slap for appreciation, and Wells acted like he didn't care. Check it out on a rerun, if you can.

I watched David Wells face all night and there is no way you're going to tell me he didn't care. After allowing his last HR they did a close up of his face when he turned around to watch the ball fly, and you could see how demoralized he was by his performance. You can bash Wells for a lot, but don't say he didn't care.

i understand what you mean, and i respect him for continuing on but i just feel like he has nothing left in that arm of his, i really hope he proves me wrong, i want him to succeed. just not feeling it.

it's not the arm, he still has a little bit left in the arm...its the knee

Tired of him continually being sub par. I don't care if he he pitched with one leg and one arm, he has been a consistant disappointment in a Sox Uniform. I agree with him I'm sick of himn too. The sox need to start getting younger in thier rotation and fast. As much as I love Schill, how long will he be around? David Wells is a bust, and Wake while being a tremendous player and teammate, is a hit or miss every night. Beckett at times can look horrific. This rotatoin is beginning to look like the Yankees at the beginning of the year. Hold ont oyour hats cus its gonna be a bumpy home stretch.

It could just be a straight slide down out of the playoffs. The latest rash of injuries and FO inactivity could devastate this team.

Explain to me how please. He was 15-7/ 4.45 ERA last year. Is that a consistent disappointment? Or are you relying your opinion based on 13 innings this year? You have made four posts on the forum, and when you bash the team in this way, it kind of makes you look like a troll when you base your opinion on 13 innings. The thing to remember about Wells, is that his contract is INCENTIVE LADEN. To say he is consistantly disappointing after throwing 13 innings this year is foolish, especially when you factor in what he did last year. If anyhting, I am impressed he has tried to get on the field.
