While I was watching, it seemed like no one really remembered who he was. I heard a couple applauses but I didn't hear much. It was as if he was just another player. There were no boos or anything, it just didn't seem to be a warm welcome. I was quite disappointed, actually. I would have given him a standing ovation.

I was at the game and sat behind the visitors dugout. As "schillingouttheKs' mentioned, there was barely any clapping. Me and my friend started to just stand up and cheer out when his name was announced. Sadly we were only ones and people around us were giving us that impression like when in a cartoon, all you can hear is crickets

IMO people put way too much into his error in game 2. White Sox wouldve still beat our boys, they were the better team. Maybe if his error came in the deciding game but it didnt, it came in the 4th inning of game 2. What a hack!! What about Clement setting the tone with the worst start by a Sox pitcher in the ALDS? Wells 1 out later after Graff's error had served up a meatball of a pitch to Iguchi? How about lack of offense, El Duque protecting a 1 run lead and getting out of bases loaded/no outs? At least the Fenway Faithful gave him his due when his name was announced before game 3

I dont think we would have been there in the first place without the spark he brought when he got here.

i forgot about the error until you guys mentioned it lol so i dont think the majority of people did nothing because they remember the error, im guessing the average fan just didnt remember him too well, even though he played a major role down the stretch.

I think had we actually won something last year he would have got a nice ovation, but at this point he's just another short time Red Sox player. If we tried to give them all standing O's when would we actually sit at games?

What's next-- a Parade for Jeff Frye?

he played well for us but c'mon people, he played less than a full season for the Sox during a rather forgettable year. it's like giving Wade Miller a standing O if he came back. he's a likeable guy and all but I think Mark Loretta has made us forget about him

Wade Miller was a has been for the Sox, I dont even care if he ever comes back to pitch against the Sox. I dont give standing O's to just any player who has worn a Sox uni. Its apples & oranges of what the 2 had contributed

Sorry but I applauded him for the 2nd half he gave the Sox last season. He solidified the 2nd base positon left vacant by the Strikeout King Bellhorn, and was just a spark to the offense

Graffanino did everything that was expected of him and probably exceeded expectations a bit but let's be honest, giving him a standing O would cheapen the whole purpose of giving standing ovations

I'd be more inclined to give Bellhorn a standing ovation

Agreed.

I like Tony better, but Mark and hit bat made of swiss cheese did more for the team.
