Wow, Tek's about 12' from a 2 HR night. The one Kotsay caught is a dinger if it's 6' to the right, that one is a dinger if it's 6' to the left.
He's getting good AB's the last two nights, which is a good sign. He's streaky, and he's due for a good streak.

Hansen has a lot more movement on his FB. That's good to see.

I love the young arms in the 'pen. MDC and Hansen look great. And, Papelbon's secondary stuff, both the splitter and slider, is looking both filthy and consistent. The true relievers look like they will be ready to supplant Papelbon as he transitions to the rotation next year.

What a disgrace is Willie Harris. He botches that play so badly that it hits off the wall and it rolls all the way back to the SS. He never touched the ball. DOes he take fly balls before games. I mean he has nothing elso to do, but prepare, and when he comes into the game in the field or on the bases he looks lost.

Much needed win from the Sox and great pitching by Schilling. Tomorrow the sox are likely in for a battle with Snyder pitching and the A's look like the favorite on paper but the games are not played on paper which is gives us a chance.

Anything is possible, but the Sox are most probably toast tomorrow. The smart money is on the A's.

But as I said baseball is not played on paper but if it was I would chalk this game up to the A's. But anything can happen.

Also its not like the A's are trotting out a lights out pitcher. Joe Blanton is in his sophmore slump and holds a 6.00 ERA in 9 starts away from McAfee Coliseum. Not yet sold that the Sox will be beaten easily

Guys, I appreciate your optimism, but the reality is we are trotting out s*** as our 5th starter--- not a mediocre pitcher, but s***. Snyder would have his hands full with KC in Fenway. He is likely to get his head handed to him tomorrow by the first place A's. The FO can't continue to put its head in the sand about the #5 pitcher. It's basically a forfeit game. I realize that anything can happen, but if you trot out a guy that has a 1 out 4 chance of winning for the remainder of the season, the chances are that at the end of the season he will have lost pretty close to 3 out of 4 games. Occasionally, he'll get lucky and that will account for the one win in 4 starts.

I'm sure the same thing was said about Aaron Small last year and he ended up going 10-0. Him and Chacon both suck but somehow combined for a 17-3 record down the stretch to win the division. Maybe Snyder can be one of those guys but its likely he isn't but after his solid start against Washington he definitely deserved another start and maybe the sox catch lightning in a bottle considering we saw it last year with 2 stiffs.

He did deserve another start after his first start, but the FO decided to make a completely pointless move getting Jason Johnson and they sent down Snyder. They should have given Snyder the shot right away. The waiver claims were not rolling in for Johnson. They could have pushed that off a few days. Now, we are getting close to the trading deadline and the FO is still experimenting with bush leaguers. It would be nice if they could get lucky, but they don't have much time with the deadline looming.

Arent you contradicting yourself with saying that you thought Snyder did deserve another start?

Anyways when Theo makes statement after statement that he wont trade away their blue chips for win now players... its hard not to believe him. Something will be done. Whether it be Wells making a comeback, he could be back late this month if all goes well in their plans. Or it could be a trade for a innings eater starting pitcher (not using prospects as high as Craig Hansen)

The trading deadline is still 2 weeks away and the biggest trades mostly come within the last 2/3 days

I'm not conteradicting myself. He should have gotten another start right away when they had the luxury of more time. Instead they dick around for another few weeks with Jason Johnson. Now, they are short on time to solidify the rotation, and they decide to give the kid his deserved second start. Sorry, but it's too late.
