Soderling beat Federer for his first time in 13 match ups. I hope he can beat Nadal in the Finals b/c with Djokavic out Nadal has his path cleared to the Finals. On the womens side, of the final 4, none of them have won a grand slam

If he plays the rest of way like he did against Federer , no one is stopping him, not even Nadal . he has the perfect game to beat Nadal . keep the points short and keep blasting forehand winners down the lines , just like he did last year against Nadal

Wow, Federer was down 2 sets to none to Alejandro Rollas before winning the third 6-4, the 4th 7-6, and cruising in the 5th 6-0, a lot of drama to start the opening round

I can buy tickets to the Philadelphia Freedoms pro tennis team for $20....should I do it? Roddick plays for them.

I'd never even heard of that team tennis until I just now looked it up, but there's a few big names that play... James Blake, Maria Sharapova, the Williams sisters. Interesting.

Rollas was actually serving for the match in that 4th set at 5-4 but the nerves and fatigue got to him and Federer rolled over him after that

He's very lucky to advance and said so himself

70-68' date=' John Isner. That's like a woman's basketball score. Ridiculous. What a guy.[/quote']

Or a high scoring Big 10 game

I couldn't imagine being the loser of a match like that. I'd probably retire.

Its not like he was a great player-- he was just a qualifier. He gets a ton of publicity, he'll probably get a big endorsement deal from Nike, and it will likely revitalize his mediocre career. Plus, he has a place in history. I really don't see it as a loss.
