It was only this offseason when some Yankees fans and managment, were fine sticking Bubba out in Center on a everyday basis

The only reason why Cashman said he was fine with sticking with Bubba in CF was so the price of a CF wouldnt sky rocket. Keeping him on as a backup is useless. DFA Bubba and call up Kevin Thompson.

Ricky Riccardo doesn't look like much of a pickup for the Blue Jays. You aren't too good if Nick Greene can take you to the wall.

It wasn't funny the first time...

Bubba doesnt have any options left?

I will say, it was nice seeing some good defense at 3B yesterday.

Oh well, at least we're going to Texas now...we usually do pretty well against them.

Bubba and Andy Phillips both have no options left. That's why they were on the roster at the start of the season and continue to be.

I like Bubba, but I wouldn't mind seeing Thompson take his place.

As I said before during Ponson's start, it was simply stupid at the time when sports critics were starting to praise Cashman on the pickup. I just saw the replays and he looked lost on the mound. Even Im saying that its a disgrace seeing him in a Yankees uniform

i'm pretty sure Phillips does, doesnt he? He was first called up in September of '04 and I dont recall him being on the 40 man in '03. After you said that I remembered Bubba not having any left, but I could have sworn Phillips still had one left.

It could be the footsteps that they are hearing from the Jays that has him unnerved.

Or it could just be my aggrevation from having to deal with you and your Yankee hate-fest. Grow up and go find a team to root for. I swear it's pathetic how much attention you pay to the Yankees and how much you criticize them when you have your own team to worry about. The Red Sox pitching staff is worse off than the Yankees (though you wouldnt know it based on today, but thats baseball) and it will catch up to them. Focus on that.

That statement proves you know absolutely nothing about baseball. You guys have 1 young pitcher that doesn't blow ... how exactly is it that you're staff is better off? You do understand that Mike Mussina is going to continue to age right? And that will leave your team without a consistant pitcher. Or wait ...is it because you guys have 1 pitching prospect in the minors ... OH NO!!! PHILLIP HUGHES ... I'M SO SCARED!!!!

The Yankees have 1 consistant pitcher, and nothing behind him besides an average Wang who will never be able to beat the Red Sox consistantly. Come back to earth dude.

if phil hughes was ready sidney ponson would be finishing off his rehab and probation terms in aruba rather than stinking up the clean air of toronto

the mere fact that you say nys pitching is better than boston indicates

(a)you live in a cave

(b)youre in complete and utter denial

this is open to argument come 7-31 but as of today nys pitching is awful

As of right now, I dont see HOW you can say the Yankees pitching staff is in better shape than the Red Sox.

Mussina = Schilling

Randy = Beckett

Wright

Wang

Ponson = Snyder (although Snyder has been much better than Ponson lately)

Rivera = Papelbon

Farsworth

Proctor

Myers > Lopez

Villone > Seanez

Wilson

Chacon = Tavarez

I believe you made a typo ... Papelbon > Rivera.

Go ahead and argue if you'd like Yankee fans, but I'll show you the numbers. They decide who the best pitcher is ... not a pitchers history.

I almost did that, but Rivera does have 1 less blown save than Paps. I still think Paps is better than Rivera this year, but Rivera is still a pretty dominant closer

Yes but that is the only place Rivera is better than Paps, and to be fair Paps has had 7 more chances, and has 6 more saves. Paps wins ERA 0.54 to 2.06. Rivera has allowed almost twice as many hits (42 to 27) eventhough he has only pitched 2.1 more innings (52.1 to 50). Rivera has allowed 4 times as many earned runs than Paps (12 to 3). Paps K/BB is better than 5 (50/9) while Rivera's is just a shade over 4 (38/9). Paps sports a .72 WHIP and Rivera's is .97.

It appears that you chose the only stat that favors Rivera ... and it only does so because Rivera has appeared less.

rivera is rivera

the best closer ever

he gave up a walk off friday nite

hes been spending a lot of time out there in the 8th inning too

it will be interesting to see what happens in september

will this be the year rivera burns out down the stretch or will young paps get burnt out due to the length of the season....

i like our guy right now but rivera is the best ever

I'm not in the mood to argue about the best closer ever so for now I'll just agree with your statement. Best closer ever doesn't mean jack s*** when Rivera takes the mound this season ... best closer in the game does. I dont care about last season, or next season ... I care about this season, and we have THE BEST closer this season, and Rivera is not on the same level ... just look at the numbers. Rivera is still a great closer but he is not as dominating as Paps is. So I guess we agree ... I'll take Paps every day.
