Let's not rush Wagner. Tek has two more years for us and could be added on another one. In three seasons Wagner will be ready and we could be set at catcher for a long time. Besides, don't we have a guy named Egan who projects high as well? I'm more concerned with seeing some of our supposed great young arms coming up and winning some games for us within the next two years. I just hope they have good pitching coaches on the farm because except for Papelbon the ones we brought up this year have been less than stellar.

It would be nice if Tek would teach Wagner how to be an effective game caller. During the last year of his contract, Tek should spend some quality time with Wagner explaining all of the research he does on the batters and whatever else it is that makes him so effective at making our pitchers better.

Schill, I don't think you have to worry about that. Tek is going to be connected with the Red Sox for a long time and it wouldn't surprise me if he becomes their manager some day. Wagner will have one helluva teacher and with his ability we will be set at catcher for a long time.

Wagner's stock has dropped considerably with the acquisition of George Kottaras, and his medioce showing since being promoted to Single-A Wilmington

17 games- .169 avg, .243 obp, 4 Doubles, HR, 5 RBIs, 8 Runs, 7 Walks

2006 season (combined stats)

113 games- .281 avg, .364 obp, 36 Doubles, Triple, 8 HRs, 50 RBIs, 57 Runs, 49 Walks, SB

Well I can tell you this Riverside, Kotteras didn't exactly tear up his league either. All this talk about our great farm system and we have to search the waiver list for bums to fill out our rotation. Jarvis is the latest stiff to grace our staff and he sucks to high heaven just like Johnson, Snyder and Corey have. I'll tell you this: Either Epstein gets his s*** together this fall or Henry has to show him the door. Either that or all of us get a two cigarettes and two blindfolds and take action ourselves against those two boobs.

Guess what Kottaras had a small sample of AB's in AAA. How about you learn something about him before you criticize him.

Don't be angry at him, be angry with CitiBank for their s***** commercials.

Havent updated this in awhile. Even tho Kottaras is slated as the possible next catcher for the Sox, I'll still do updates on Wagner who is catching for the Single A Lancaster Jethawks

Kottaras is not at all impressive with the bat or in the field. He's been slow in developing.

that was a big knock on him was that his best production came in a league that he was too old for. I dont like that argument, and when it doesnt bear out it gets ignored, and when it does bear out it is pointed to. Although I was never sold on Kottaras all that much anyway as I think he was mostly overhyped due to the dearth of prospects in the SD system rather than how good he actually was.
