BOSTON (Ticker) -- John Wasdin makes his second appearance of the season against one of his former teams Saturday when the Texas Rangers meet the Boston Red Sox in the second game of a day-night doubleheader.

After being recalled from Class AAA Oklahoma, Wasdin (0-0, 0.00 ERA) pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings and recorded two strikeouts in last Saturday's relief outing against the Chicago White Sox.

Wasdin went 19-16 with the Red Sox from 1997-2000 and is 2-4 with a 6.29 lifetime ERA against Boston.

The Red Sox counter with Josh Beckett (7-3, 5.27), who went 4-1 with a 4.42 ERA in the month of May. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings in his last outing Monday against the New York Yankees, surrendering eight runs and seven hits.

Beckett opened his season with a victory over Texas after yielding just one run and seven hits in seven frames.

It would be pretty terrible if that mutual off day that they used to reschedule one of the rained out games needed to be made into a DH. If only this afternoon's game gets rained out, then I'm sure it will just be moved to tomorrow.

I think they are going to postpone the night game and try to play the day game tonight. Otherwise it would be the 3rd time the fans would have to pay for parking, food, etc. I think the people who had tix for the night game (me) will see game 2 of the doubleheader tomorrow.

Is Game 1 going to be on NESN, or Fox?
