indeed! only has given up a run in 7.1 innings pitched , the only concern i have for him are his walks given up , but overal he has done a fantastic job. 6.1 of those innings were against toronto wich has a great lineup and has killed us this year

ive been high on this kid since we got him, and really think he could be a great setup guy for us for the foreseeable future

Van Buren has been a pleasant surprise. Like redsoxrules mentioned above, I'd like to see him improve on hitting his spots, but as long as he gets the job done, I have no complaints at this point.

He has an incredibly bizarre delivery. He looks like a contortionist up there, squirming around on the mound after each pitch. That can't be good on his back.

He threw 30+ pitches Sunday, then 30+ again tonight.

 

 

If not for the BS Call, he would have had 1.2 innings of scoreless baseball. I hope he sticks around for a while.

I thought on one of his pitches he hurt himself--it looked like he grabbed his shoulder and tried to stretch it out. Never heard anything about it after that though--i don't think he pitched that bad today--we'll see what happens!

I'd be more concerned with his elbow. I can't say I understand why his delivery wasn't changed in the minors.
