Jermaine Van Buren and Manny Delcarmen better stick on the Red Sox roster. If they keep getting outs I don't see how they could send them back down.

 

I liked what I saw from David Pauley other than the results. Once he learns to locate that curveball he will do well. I would say he needs the rest of the season in Portland and next year in Pawtucket.

 

His delivery reminds me a lot of Derek Lowe.

your kidding right? i hate clement as anyone dose right now but allowing 11 hits 6 earned runs and walking 3 in just 4.1 innings pitched , beleive it or not thats even worse than clement

He lasted further than Clement and showed more balls on the mound than clement has shown all year. If that had been Clement out there he would have fallen apart.

Pauley also threw that nice sinking fastball and got a bunch of double plays. Deffinitly a nice advantage to keep the ball on the ground with our infield. Matt Clement can't keep anything in the park.

He also may have gotten out of the inning of not for the Loretta play and the Manny error.

 

 

His line could have been somewhere like 5IP, 3ER which would have been fairly decent for your first major league start.

OMG the reason he kept them in the game is not cause of his pitching its cause of boston scoring , f*** any pitcher can keep his team in the game if he has 7 run scored for him , so bassicaly what your telling me is pauley was better cause it just so happened that the sox offense 7 runs verry early in that game , and btw as soon as he got his biggest lead of the 7-2 he gave it away right away, the fact of the matter is pauley didnt pitch any better than the other sox starter , he pitched the same just so happen he got more run support than the others

btw manny had no chance catching that ball , and even if he fielded the ball corectly after it fell and kept overbay at third , well he would have scored after anyways , manny miss didnt affect anything . i know he only pitched one game but a 3.23 WHIP and opponants batting 500 yeah thats right 500 against him , are problem for a fifth starter are still far away from being solve

well of course those stats are going to be big like that from just 1 game he has pitched in. Cmon now, its not the best argument to throw out those stats based on 4.1 innings pitched. As Ive tried to ask other posters, who would you have put instead to fill in wells' slot againt the blue jays?

im just pointing out stats that he didnt pitch a good game ,like everybody thinks otherwise and said that he pitched great and should immediately replace clement , i dont like clement myself at this point but that wasent much better than clement has done this year so far
