you know Gammons slipped a line in there during his sportscenter segment that someone in the Sox organization said something about a Clemens deal to him, so who the heck knows, but he thinks a decision will be out in 48 hours

Thank god its over and Clemens can stop holding the world hostage. Maybe now Red Sox fans can let go of this guy.

Edit: Whoops. A little behind. For the love of god Clemens, sign with the f***ing Astros.

14m for june july aug and september?

is he blowing drayton mcclain with debs giving out rimmers to the team??

14M for that piece of s***....i only wish he came back to the a.l to be exposed

meanwhile theyre pulling oswalt out of a 1-0 game after 6innings against the cards??

He is signing a minor-league contract for now, so he can make three minor league tuneup starts without being formally optioned to the minors leagues. His prorated minor-league salary is $322,000 per year.

Clemens is scheduled to make three minor-league starts: June 6 for Lexington (pitching to his son, Koby), June 11 for Double-A Corpus Christi and June 16 for Triple-A Round Rock.

Why do you care what the Astros are paying Clemens this year? Check out the stats - he had a pretty good year last year and probably deserves to be paid like that. Its about pro-rated to what he made last year.

i dont care what mcclain pays him,hes in texas and i dont have to watch.

clemens got beat in a game 7 by jeff suppan in 2004

got knocked around by the banjo hitters from atlanta in 05 and couldnt get anyone out in game 1 against chicago in the world series...

if i were an astros fan and had to watch this snivler get rich

(remember he went there for a hometown discount then whacked them for 18M in arbitration money)

while we couldnt afford to even offer carlo beltran a contract i would want to puke...

will they now lose oswalt because dray mcclain wants roger to retire an astro??

i hope so

oswalt is their best pitcher

is he getting 14M per??

anyone who would remotely consider using clem over petitte or oswalt in a big game never watched roger pitch with his back against the wall.

making him the 2nd highest paid player this year

the highest paid pitcher ever,at 43

paid by a team that refused to negotiate with carlo beltran because of economic issues and has roy oswalt coming up for a raise.....beautiful move dray

anywonder that these texans f*** the country up too??

why did we steal texas from the mexicans

it seems like a no brainer, take all the mexicans living in this nation and send them to texas along with all the convicts and people with iq's under 70(this means yankee nation you're off to texas)

I hope Koby is catching that game. I BELIVEVE (I could be wrong) that before he got hurt he played primarily at third base, because they have several catchers down there in Lexington. Hopefully they throw Koby behind the plate in that game and FSN Houston airs it. That would be amazing.

Also, I know i'm getting in on this topic late (computer problems) but I am very upset that Roger didnt come here, but I understand. However, i'm not counting out the possibility of the Astros falling out of it by July 31st and Rog' possibly asking for a trade, like all of the speculation last year. That'd be great!! :D

Absolutely! Then we can hear even more about this guy! Between him and Bonds its like 80% of baseball attention.

Roger won't be getting traded. Even if the Astros fall out of it they need to keep Roger to make money at the gate.

idk, i'm sure the Astros wouldnt mind getting rid of that big salary if they know they have no shot at a pennant. Who knows. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it, I suppose.

I think Clemens would rather sit on his couch, then go play for the Red Sox or Yankees.

Dont call us Yankee Nation. It's too much like Red Sox Nation, and I want no association in any way with Red Sox nation. We're Yankee Universe, biacth!!

You dont think that maybe he would want a shot at a ring. EIther way he's gonna play, because he wants that money. Might as well work towards a Pennant/World Series bonus, plus a 3rd ring.

Roger Clemens overload!!!!

That Lexington game got more coverage than half the MLB teams. Jeff Brantley even discussed how he pitched, what he pitched, and how everyone in the stadium got free windshield washer fluid by Clemens getting 6 K

Posted
Yeah, the amount of coverage was outrageous. They had it on both ESPN and ESPNEWS. But whatever, it's Roger. I dont mind.

I certainly do. I can't WAIT until this guy retires.

But then we'll have to do it all over again when his HOF year comes up.
