yep doesnt have any ties with Boston

Nipper, Schilling (Rog mentored him), Bill Hasselman, Wakefield. He also gets to see his old Sox teammates: Jerry Remy, Jim Rice, Dennis Eckersley. Luis Tiant and Dwight Evans also make frequent visits

great points there, i never even though of that.

Let alone the biggest tie is that Boston is kind of where he pitched for the first 13 years of his HOF career

Not to mention 2 of his wife's best friends who live in Boston. Clemens has many non-baseball freinds in Boston..even a few relatives.. He is coming to Boston... it is a foregone conclusion.

whens he suppose to make an anouncement on where he's going to pitch?

Yeah because he really wants to play in Boston because of the announcers/former players? Matsui, Jeter, Williams, Mussina, Rivera, Posada, and Giambi, he also knows the organazation and chances are they will give him a blank check. Not to mention how he has said how he wants to go into the HOF as a Yankee (Doubt they let him).

He could still get a $25 million dollar deal with the Yankees.

He could still sign with the Astros.

Not a foregone conclusion.

yankee fans were a whole less bitter than sox fans were when he went to NY. Yeah, the press sucks over all, but for the most part, yankee fans held no grudges...

Since when does the NY POST speak for most fans? Remember its the Post. "Hacks" as Schilling calls them and most of the NY media.

He said that three years ago, before he signed with the Astros.

The only player Clemens actually talks to is Torre (maybe). I still don't understand why Roger Clemens would choose signing with the Yankees just because of his reverance for Joe Torre.

When they make the announcement Thursday, remember I told you so. All Yankee fans can do is talk about the bad blood..lol..the Bad Blood was with Duquette and Harrington. That has been LONG SINCE forgotten. I think you underestimate Henry/Lucchino/Werner/Theo and their ability to create a nice working environment for a player. Clemens is signing with the Sox. I just hope he produces like he did for Houston last year. He hasn't pitched in a meaningful game since the WBC..

Jeter shared a house with him during the WBC from what I heard.

I'm sure it echoed a good majority of Yankee fans on his way out.

You've all gotten over it, probably. So have Red Sox fans.

I remember Clemens and Hasleman being good friends, along with Wakefield.

I could also see him getting along with guys like Schilling and Timlin

I don't care if jeter shared Jessica Alba with him..ROger wants to end his career in Boston. He has already accomplished what he needed to in NY. If he is leaving HOU..it will be because he has unfinished business in Boston.. NY is not even a player...They may think they can buy everyone...but not in this case..not this time..this time it is personal.

i bet you could also see him coming in and getting 15 wins and having an era under 1. The rosey glasses must be nice. NOBODY gets along with schilling.....

Schilling credits Clemens for turning his career around. Also, Beckett is a Texas guy who also idolizes Clemens.

Oh, and Nipper > Jeter.

So... you guys claim that WEEI & Dirt Dogs speak for all Sox fans

I'm gonna have to look back at my posts and check if I have ever said that. The Post is trash. Stick to the Times guys and even then they dont always reprensent MY opinion.

Clemens and Varitek were also teamates during the WBC, which probably doesnt mean much

especially since Varitek never caught Clemens.

I cannot wait to see Roger pitching for us next series vs. Yanks in the "Toilet". With Coco back...we will bitchify the Yankees in their backyard.

blah blah blah

id say Clemens priorities are

1. Family (he'll go back to Houston, unless his family lets him pitch elsewhere)

2. Winning team (Boston and New York are, Houston isnt)

4. History (had great history with the Sox)

3. Money (shouldnt be a big deal anymore in his career)
