I know I dont post here very often.... but never let it be said that I am not a huge Sox fan...all my life, and that is a freakin long time....:D

Some of you know me , some do not...

I am in Arizona for the past 18 years, previously from Stoughton, MA.

I amthe founder and former president of the New England Patriots Fan Club Of Arizona.

But, that is not important.....what is..... is the following.

I follw the Sox every day.....one way or another...and Ihave this question to ask.

Why the hell are Tavarez and Seanez still on the roster and still pitching for the Sox.

I dont know much of their history, but every time I see one of these guys on the mound, they are getting rocked...literally every single time.

I cant believe that there arent two other guys, somewhere in the system, that could not do a better job.

So, someone out there...tell me why.....

Tavarez has proved consistenly decent with about 8 teams like the Cards Rockies and others, not much more, and with the bullpen from last year, was an upgrade. I don't have any idea why Seanez on the roster. Hansen or Lester could easily take his place

Seanez i am sure is on a short leash! However he has performed much better of late---if he regresses, then he'll go i am sure!

Because they are both getting used to the AL. Time is what's necessary. The Sox are still atop the division at the moment, and with more time in this division, and in the AL, they will adapt to the level of talent that comes with the shift in leagues. Besides, last night we saw what Tavarez can do, as he effectively filled in for Wells for a bit after he was struck in the knee, and did pretty decently.

Seanez is on a short leash, but as of last night he had 9 previous scoreless innings. I wouldn't wave the white flag on them quite yet, because they HAVE shown that they can beneficially contribute to this team's success. It's just been a bumpy road. I was questioning the Seanez move since they signed him, but because I had such low expectations and now that I've seen what he can do in the recent outings, I'm liking it more and more. Just give them time, and if they continue to perform more sub-par performances than wanted, THEN go ahead and crucify them. They've been getting better, so just sit back and wait a little longer.

yea Id agree with the adjustment theroy. the al is a different type of leauge. more power oriented, so let tavarez come into his prime. he is an intimidating pitcher if he is on.

Riske - 9.00 ERA in 2.0 IP

Holtz - 16.20 ERA in 1.2 IP, on the DL

DiNardo - 7.11 ERA in 25.1 IP

Delcarmen - 9.82 ERA in 3.2 IP

Alvarez - 12.00 ERA in 3.0 IP

Maybe that's why?

What I think is that what they need is simply time to get used to the AL; specially Seanez that is not as great pitcher as Tavarez is. Anyway, they MUST work hard to adjust to the league; and if they don't get to that level just give the oportunity to AAA pitchers like Lester, Hansen or Pauley. That's my point of view.

I just got home, turned on the game, its the bottom of the 9th, Wakefield is out (I dont know why) and Seanez has walked the bases loaded. Sorry, get rid of this piece of crap, and take Tavarez with him.

Tavarez, the piece of crap walks the number 9 hiter, get rid of both of these pieces of crap TONIGHT.

Is Francona out of his mind leaving that POS in .....

It's amazing, I rarely post here...come in and bitch about Tavarez and Seanez, ask what the hell they are doing on the roster and then look what happens today (Sunday) BOTH OF THES PIECES OF CRAP NEED TO BE GIVEN WALKING PAPERS FIVE MINUJTES AFTER THIS GAME IS OVER, AND EVEN THAT'S TOO LONG OF A TIME.....

And here is the dumbest part of the whole ordeal today....Tavarez gets credit for a save. GIVE ME A FRICKIN BREAK.

They can be good one day and bad the other. Most of the time bad and they are way to inconsistent to be on this team. I agree they should be gone.

Thank you. I may not be right all of the time (most of the time, maybe) but these two guys need to be cut loose NOW......I am no expert but I have watched the game of baseball for over 60 years, and I can tell you, these two guys will drag this team down...DUMP BOTH OF THEM NOW....Sayonara baby.

NOTE: If they dump the two of them, I just hope the hispanic community doesn 't scream "racial bigotrry" because, IMO, it is nothing like that...these two guys just plain SUCK....PERIOD.

Seanez has a may era around 2.

not any more, lol. Both of these guys are making a lot of money (4.4 mil total this yr), but the sox didnt do their HW on these guys. Tavarez era is around 6 in his career in the AL and he has emotional issues. Seanez has been a career journeyman who failed miserably with the sox a few yrs ago, he putted around for a few yrs, then caught on in the pathetic NL West and became dominant. He is reverting to what he is....
