(I cant look up the numbers)

what of Maddux? I have a huntch. Like a Starsky and Hunch.

Plan C, if not Clem and plan B, Maddox to the Sox. For what?

Maddux is not an American League pitcher. I don't think he would fare that well in the AL.

I don't know about that. Mussina has done well, and he's a very similar pitcher with excellent control of 4 pitches who changes speeds well to keep hitters off balance. He didn't have a good outing against the ChiSox, but I watched that game and the strikezone was postage stamp small.

Mussina threw harder than Maddux and has been in the AL for over a decade. If I am Maddux I wouldn't want to make that transition to the AL at his age.

RJ did, But im not sure if he has been in the AL, before going to the Yankees.

the soft servers from the left have a small chance of success in the al

the soft servers from the right get killed, against the better teams anyways

we need to upgrade some swill in our rotation

matt clement cant get anyone out anymore, his confidence is completely shot and he needs to be relocated to the bullpen where his damage can be controlled

ESPN Insider has the following to say about Maddux...

Jun 1 - Dodgers GM Ned Colletti is expected to explore acquiring a veteran starter by the July 31 trading deadline, and Greg Maddux is a possibility, the Los Angeles Times reports.

According to the Daily Herald, Maddux is owed $6 million for the rest of this season, which could stall a deal, but if the Cubs have any heart at all they'll find a way to get him out of Chicago.

The Padres and Diamondbacks are also known to have an interest in Maddux. I think it's safe to say that if he is traded at the deadline, it will be in the N.L.

Agreed, I find it very hard to believe that the Red Sox would trade for a completely N.L pitcher as an A.l team. He couldn't handle the A.L, his style doesn't fit.

Gammons stated on WEEI that the RedSox talked to Maddux's agent about pitching in Boston when he was a free agent, and that Maddux's agent told the Sox that he respectively declines talking to the RedSox because he didnt want to pitch in the AL east.

Maddux is a smart man and knows his limitations at this point in his career. He would get nailed in the AL East.

id take Schmitt anytime , speaking of wich he struckout 16 tonight and improved to 6-2 with a 2.53 ERA
He's a good rent-a-player choice, provided they don't give up the top prospects in the organization.

And with a 2.53 ERA, I think it'd take something big to get him.
