f***ing Baseball Tonight commentators going under barry Bonds conference table with tissues

"We cant diminish the fact of how he was able to turn his career higher from age 35 on"

Am I missing something?? That was the season he hit 73, the season is documented that he started juicing up heavily. Only reason he is at 715 is because he cheated. The thing is, he didnt even have to f***ing cheat. He still wouldve finished around with 500+. Still an obvious HOF career

"The media has been giving him a bad rap. Imagine how great baseball players of the past would be today, would they be scrutinized the same way?"

No... because they didnt take steroids

Joe Morgan

"I dont like to analyze Barry Bonds' numbers. Because there are other players who are still out there taking steroids, I dont think its fair to just focus on Barry. Barry Bonds shouldnt be the face of the steroids era"

The only reason why they defend Barry is because he has become the face of the game they love. They feel he has already tarnished the game enough and to advoid it the best is way to escape the monster that MLB created.

i honestly dont care anymore, he was going to do it anyway. It just bugs me to see him get the record with all the roids and stuff. its really a tragic story, a good ballplayer who without the roids was a goood hitter, who just got greedy and started being a generally nasty person because of it..

sad...

Don't know if anyone else saw this, but the guys on ESPN Page 2 did a article on how many home runs Barry would have without steriods. They took into account every home run he hit since 1998 and looked at things like how far he hit it, stamina issues, confidence and figured out (pretty subjective, I know) that he would have around 611 or so. A pretty interesting read.

Yeah, no doubt he would have been a great player. But, now, wether or not he did steroids(which most likely he did), he will be remebered as the juicer who broke records. Sad, really.

Good thing that Babe didn't have to face any black players too huh? Josh Gibson is said to have had 800 career HR's and more HR's in one season than Ruth. Ruth is still a great player but Gibson might have been the HR king if blacks were allowed to play in MLB.

anchor from CBS "today" morning show

"This is crazy. Just give this man his due. Steroids or no steroids, he got to this historic number. He's just 41 away from the HR king and he very much deserves to have that record."

what a f***ing homer
