i can see craig wilson as a possibility here. he would play rightfield' date=' crosby in left, and he could also play 1st occasionally when cairo sucks. oh, wait...[/quote']

Craig Wilson would be perfect actually as he is also a backup catcher. Sanders would be easier to get though....

Yeah, it probably wouldn't take much to make KC happy.

i think wilson might be the best option. He can play RF untill matsui is healthy, then once he and sheff are back, he could play 1st while Giambi DH's. Screw Bernie, he doesnt do s*** anymore at the plate. He should be a pinch hitter/DH every now and then. Wilson also shouldn't cost you guys to much

The Royals are out of it already. Reggie Sanders is a proven veteran. Gives you pop and could be easily obtained for a B level prospect or 2.

maybe, but even with Rowand out, Victoriano is starting in CF over Dellucci. But once Rowand comes back, Dellucci want see any playing time

sheff will be back in a couple weeks and then we can sit back and watch Melky Cabrera develop. We have a good one in this kid....

Definately, I love this kid.

I liked Wilson a lot and wanted us to get him in the offseason because he is also capable of catching, and when news was that Joe was considering using Jorge as a DH a lot this year we would have needed a third player capable of catching. But not that we've seen that wont be the case, coupled with the fact that there is no room for WIlson without losing Melky, I dont want him.

As for trading out for an outfielder, that seems to be what everybody thinks the Yankees will do. I do not think that, nor do I hope that. But if we were to do that the only guys i'd want are Soriano, Hunter, Stewart, Delucci, maybe Sanders, and maybe Wilson.

kevin reese recalled for colombus as a 5th outfielder...

Should have called up Kevin Thompson. He's faster, plays good defense, can steal bases, and is a leadoff/contact type hitter. Definately would have preferred to see him.

i wish the redsox yankee rivalry wouldn't clutter this thread. i made this to honor the guy, what a stand up man.

the injury looked pretty bad, there were no great angles but it looked like he hyper extended it pretty serverly. i'm expecting some definate torn ligaments (hence surgery was needed). it was clearly bad, his hand swelled up severly.

and before anyone jumps on me, i do know what i am talking about. that's what i'm spending 7 years of my life learning about.

What are the chances we see Soriano in left field? The guys on Baseball Tonight were hinting at it. I don't see it happening, but it sounds like something Steinbrenner would pursue.

once again, I dont want us to go out and get somebody until we know how long sheff will be out. If sheff is back in 2 weeks like he should be, then we wont need anybody...

IF SHeff is out an extended period of time and we do need to go out and get an outfielder, this is the guy that I think we most likely get. He's in his contract year, he doesnt like it in Washington, they dont like him, he wants out, they want to drop the contract, etc, etc, etc. It shouldnt be too hard with all of that being considered. Much easier to get him than say Torii Hunter or maybe even Shannon Stewart. The Nats would be willing to part with him pretty easily. Maybe Tanyon Sturtze, Kevin Reese, possibly Aaron Small, and I think maybe some middle of the rotation guy down in Charleston or something. At the most, thats what it would take. Maybe they want Jaret Wright instead of Sturtze/Small which is fine with me, but we dont pick up a dime of his contract. But like I said, I think that sounds like a pretty good package considering everything I mentioned before about both parties' desire to part ways plus the upcoming free agency not to mention the $10 Million price tag that the new owners would love to get rid of.

Ichiro Suzuki?

I wish. I would bust in my pants, no lie. I wanted Ichiro so bad in the offseason when those rumors were going around.

I don't think the Nats new owners are going to accept a whole lot of nothing for one of their best trading chips. I don't doubt that they'll want to be free from his contract/attitude, but they are going to want some value in return, and the market will provide it for someone like Soriano (especially given his good start). I personally think he's overrated, but you won't get him for the drek you just mentioned.

well, they finally disclosed Matsui's injury. A fractured radial head. The bad thing is, it takes a long time to heal. The good thing is, the radius is a rather large bone which can be readily stabilized. He didnt fracture a carpal bone, which I was afraid of. I hope he comes back healthy....

Ichiro Suzuki?

Are you kidding me?

No, f*** that. That was the dumbest thing, I've ever typed.

Unfortunately, the dumbest thing I've ever typed would probably the best of one your posts.

I can't believe you'd even think Seattle would be dumb enough to trade Ichiro.
