I didn't know that. I'm no genius in Science, but I really thought having an indoor stadium would at least increase the air resistance of the ball in high places like Denver.

It is possible, but it would require pressure seals at every opening to the building so that they could pump more air in and keep it at a higher pressure (the air at sea level is 1 ATM - atmosphere - the air above sea level is less than 1 ATM of pressure).

This really is a fun team to watch. Only 1.5 out, I doubt anybody expected them to still be within reach of the Division lead at this point.

In response to what they can do to counteract the thin air of Denver... what they've done at Coors Field for the past couple years is store the ball in a humidor to keep the moisture in the balls, which basically 'deadens' it.

Or, like we all keep saying, LEARN TO KEEP THE BALL DOWN.

And get more sinkerball and slider pitchers. I would have loved to see D-Lowe in Colorado.

13 hits, (5 doubles and a homer among them), 10 runs, through four for the Rockies. They made the guy who came in to relieve the starter, Jeff Washburn, throw 60 pitches.

Yeah, they destroyed the Angels tonight. No way for Jose Mesa to blow that lead! 1.5 out of first!

After PWNING Jeff Weaver, the Rockies beat the Angels again last night on Jorge Piedra's (yeah, I bet Scot Shields said 'who?' too) bases loaded double (his first double of the season).

1.5 out from the Padres!

This is beautiful, once the laughing stock of their divison, my Rockies are now the NL West's elite team. This thing will go down to the wire with the Blue Crew but the Rox will eventually pull it out and take the division, shocking the haters that roam the board of talksox, that mercilessly jeered the Rockies and their chances before this season. If Holliday, Atkins, Hawpe, and Helton can continue to carry the offensive load, if the SP's can continue to impress, and if Fuentes continues his all-star season, expect this post to be 100% correct.

Dude nobody cares about the Rockies (besides YOTN and maybe moose cause he's a Dodgers fan) we just made fun of them for the sole purpose of pissing you off, I don't think since you left the words "Colorado" or "Rockies" have been uttered in a post besides maybe Youk of the Nation (outside of this thread)

I know nobody actually cares about them except for me and YoukoftheNation but it's a special thing when the laughing stock of the major leagues turns into a playoff calibur team that is contending for their division.
