He has a sluggin percentage of .301. That is horrible. Last yr, his slugging percentage was in the .300s with a .280 BA. The guy lost his power when he broke his thumb...

thats not really a valid argument because he never had much power to begin with

I can, because he isn't really sliding. Talk about his lack of power, but he never had any. The guy is swinging the bat fine. I've watched nearly every game and I've gotta say I haven't noticed he hasn't been hitting the ball well. Baseball is a game of percentages and sometimes those percentages just don't go your way. I know you'd love to think his career is over but I don't think it is. You should hope he is ok too because dustin pedroia will take his place if he isn't and that might be worse for you.

Does anyone know how old matt ginter is?

I believe he was 30. He was a tiger and a met at one point and was supposed to be the next coming. He was great in Norfolk before the mets brought him up and he was serviceable in the NL East. Then he was dealt away and was horrible again. He is a minor league journeyman who could be a short term patch job pitcher, but he isnt a guy you could hang your hat on, that is if he doesnt turn out to be the next Aaron Small....

With a BA of .220. Think those two stats are related? Just about everything he's hit this year with gap-power or more has been at a fielder. Look at his BABIP, it's ridiculously low.

a low BABIP could indicate a lack of power, ie a lack of getting it over the fielder's heads, the lack of being able to drive it to the gap. His eye is great, always has been and he has never lost that. His ability to drive the ball is gone. That was his scouting report out of SD and he has done nothing but prove it thus far....

wow, for the season the sox lead the league with 189 left on base---the 2nd place team is the yanks with 165! Ouch! This is one of the biggest funks i have seen this team in for a long time!

the yankees have the second most only because they have the best OBP in the game, BY FAR. The team OBP is .392 and the next highest is .369 by CLE...

What month is it? Percentage stats won't matter for a little while more. You're making some rather big convictions based on one month. Believe it or not there are still .140 more games. Who knew.

Have you watched any of the games? If you have been, you would know that he isn't getting hits because he isn't hitting the ball hard. He has been hitting the ball squarely all season long, they just aren't finding holes.

So his ground outs today would have been hits if they were in the holes? You can say that about anybody....

Here is a spark for Debate, Would the Sox have been better off keeping Mirabelli, and Graff. Graff is a solid second basemen, and Wake was comfortable with Dougie. Even if Lorreta returns to form, really how much better could he do than 310. with like 7 jacks and 35 rbis in half a season
