Kid impressed me last year during the last Toronto series (or Yankee series, I froget which one). I'm thinking of picking him up. Any chance he'll stick in your rotation? I don't know Francona's methodology or whatever, so I'm relying on what you guys know.

I have the feeling Wells is calling the quits, so no telling how long he will be in the rotation. Its been kicked around on EEI, and SOSH as a possibility. He's definetly out after this year. I think he will make one more shot at a come back, but he has the same knee problem as foulke and he is a lot older than foulke. Call it a hunch, but considering the time Foulke was out last year, I think you can count on Wells to spend significant time on the DL if not have to miss the season. I think he may be done.

Dinardo could stick in the rotation, if Foulke can assume the closer role, he will and Papelbon will come in relief for multiple innings. He will probably come in a lot when Dinardo pitches, like Seanez did, to stretch him out. When Hansen is ready, they call him up, move Papelbon to the rotation. Purely speculation but its got some logic behind it. This is all assuming Clemens doesn't come to Boston. If he does, that changes everything.

Dinardo will do fine and may be in the rotation until the all-star break. (i don't see wells coming back and being effective this year) Now if clemens comes here he obviously takes the spot, but if he doesn't i think they will evaluate their options based on dinardo's performance thus far. (remember we are talking about a #5 starter who is in the pen during the post-season)

I don't see Hansen coming up this year unless really needed. He is spending a lot of time in AA portland. I saw a report on him the other day and they said that he's got "big league" stuff now---but really needs time in the minor's to polish his whole game. So i don't see the sox rushing him and turning him into a "pena" type guy. (rushed too quick to the bigs) I think our best option (if clemens doesn't come back) is for Foulke to round into form (which he seems to be getting better) and take over the role of closer so that paps can be stretched out and return to the rotation as our #5 guy!

Looks like the consensus is that as long as Foulke sucks, DiNardo will hold down the 5th spot for Papelbon. Seems worth a flyer.

Thing is, Foulke hasn't really sucked. I just don't think he's all the way back yet.

I look for Paps to be worked into the rotation near the ASB, then I think he'll be the 5th guy the rest of the way.
