Who cares what it is ... throw everything at Barry. Throw anything you can ... bring a screw driver and take out your seat if you must. Throw shoes, cups, bags, crumbled up newspaper ... anything. Make him hate playing baseball.

I'd like to see some team do a promotion .... "Throw a syringe at Barry day". No question it'd be a sell out.

I hate Bonds as much as the next guy, but we can't condone throwing things at players. Bonds CHEATED THE GAME, he didn't put anybody in physical danger. When Barry throws something up into the crowd at a fan, I'll condone the fan throwing something back down at him, but until then, this needs to stop. NOTHING at ALL gives any fan the right to throw something at a player on the field, be it Barry Bonds or anyone else. When you purchase your ticket to a game, you have the right to root for whomever you choose, root against whoever you choose, cheer or boo your little heart out, but it by no means give you the right to throw something on the field. This guy should have been arrested and I'm glad that he was. The guy who threw the syringe should have been arrested, too.

If we condone throwing things at Bonds, then it snowballs. Where do we stop? The American Public pushes things...they always have, and they always will. 'We don't like Bonds cause he cheated' will get to be 'We don't like Pujols because he hits loads of homeruns against us' in no time, and then we have a huge debacle on our hands.

I hate Bonds. HATE him. Fully intend to let him know that when I go to see him play in NY against the Mets in June. But, you can't be throwing things at players. Make all the steriod signs, asterisk signs, Anti-HOF signs that you want...but keep all your objects in the stands. No body deserves to be put in danger while doing their job. (Besides, don't we think Bonds put himself in danger enough by loading up on beef roids? haha)

I don't think an airborne tube of toothpaste is dangerous.

Anything coming raining down from the stands can be dangerous. It sounds ridiculous to think about it, but say the corner of that tube of toothpaste hits Bonds in the eye, after having being thrown from, what, 10 or 15 feet up? You bet it's dangerous. Yea, the odds aren't likely, but there shouldn't be any kind of discussion about it...throwing stuff, be it a bowling ball or a paper airplane, has no place in sports.

Absolutely. Nothing gives a fan the right to throw something on the field or at an athlete.

I don't know, I'd have to say watching Bonds get nailed with a bowling ball from ten or fifteen rows up in the stands would be pretty cool.

It wasn't toothpaste...it was a tube of icy-hot. They did a story here locally tonight, and apparantely the bottle/tube read "Steroid cream" on it. The guy said he doesn't mind that he's banned from Chase Field for a year, he says "he thinks he got his point across." Not like he's missing much anyway.

Anyway, I think its funny that it happened here, I didn't realize...I just read this thread and was too lazy to read the article. Probably wasn't much of an exxageration that the guy was found before his follow-through...not many fans to search amongst.

I really, really dislike barry bonds, they could throw an anvil at him, and I wouldnt complain. Just as long as it doesn't hurt baseball in general.
