Great win for the Sox. Beckett was once again impressive. Stern comes through again and Big Pappi hits #2 over all a great game. 6-1 so nice.

Great win for the Sox.....Beckett battled but pitched well. Lowell's day was encouraging. There is life in his bat still. Youkilis was solid as the leadoff hitter and Stern did the job in center. Foulke a solid job as well and it would have looked better if not for Pena but sometimes those things happen and Papelbon is just Papelbon, a dominating pitcher in the making.

You like the dead birds, don't you.

Speaking metaphorically, dead birds are A-OK in my book.

If you would have told me Beckett would throw 40 pitches walk 3 and give up a run in the first and still go 7 strong only giving up 1 run I'd say your a crackhead but he did and Palpelbon is just steel in the 9th.

edit: I did not realize how gross that picture was.

backin my buddy up with another dead bird picture.

For everyone who predicted a third place finish, I'm well aware that its april, but you can kiss my ass. I just want to say that I was one of the few voices of reason who laughed at the blue jays and will continue to.

-Beckett looked way too jacked up to start the game--once he settled down he was fine! Foulke looked fine; not as good as last outing but fine. If Pena made that play (which he should have) then no one is ripping foulke! paps looked great again in the 9th.

-Stern looked good, except for the bunt attempt! However in his defense, there is no way he should have been bunting in that situation; you have 1st and 2nd with no outs and gonzo up next (who has been a black hole at the plate)---let him hit away tito, it's not like he has been struggling at the plate.

-Where to begin with the trainwreck that is the beggining to pena's season! Terrible play in the field and he looks completely lost at the plate---can they please make him take a strike before allowing him to swing. Just about every pitch he swings at is way off the plate!

-Manny hasn't looked too good at the plate YET! He will come around, and when he does it will help tone down some of the "pitching around" papi.

-Trot didn't seem to be limping that bad, so he should't be out that long if at all. I can see stern platooning in right or playing right full time if trot is hurt and coco is back!

-And last but not least the home plate ump. He wasn't terrible today, but he wasn't consistant either. There were a lot of pitches that were stikes one time and balls the next. Beckett really got squeezed in the 1st, but he came out ok!

i really think that Willy mo pena will be good one day. If he could only learn to be patient, then he could actually swing at pitches in the strike zone. he's young, so we still have time to let him develop

Hey guys, back from the game. I loved my return to Fenway my 2nd home. Undoubtedly the biggest standing O was given to Papi. I was sitting in the right field box seats, right close by to where Papi's HR fell. And ugh I saw up close and personal, Willy's catch-turned-HR. The place really became electric in the 9th inning when the bullpen door had opened. Everyone knew that it was our boy Paps. I'll try to post my pics when I get it all loaded into my comp

Awesome game (I was stuck at work, watching it on the lobby TV, so I couldnt post)

Everyone who badmouthed Youk the first two games, report to me so I can laugh at you!

I happily chanted Yooouk the whole game. How about that sweet sliding basket catch he had made?

Well today was the National College Fair at the Bayside Expo and our junior class, along with what seemed like every other junior in New England, and after we went to Fanueil Hall area to get lunch, and I have to say, just walking around there, that this city has way more pride in this team than I thought. I saw a ridiculous amount of Red Sox parafanilia, more than one would think. Yeah, it was a good time.
