i thought it shouldve been science for Tito to get out Wakefield, when Nevin was coming up to the plate with bases loaded. Nevin is now 8 for 19 against Wake with 3 HRs

Francona should have avoided pitching Wakefield in Texas. I know he wants him in between Schilling and Beckett but to me that stuff is overrated. He should have looked at wake's stats when he pitches in arlington. they are not pretty

I think it is less of him trying to mix it up, and more of him trying to assure that either Schilling or Beckett pitches in each series. But I do agree, Wake doesn't take well to the dryer air.

1) Wakefield sucks in Texas, why wasn't he puished to the 4th spot?

2) Bard looks flat out terrible, he can't keep this up all season, we may need to reaquire Mirabelli.

While I don't agree with your tone, I do agree with that assessment. Riv likes to talk about Schilling declining, but Mussina's decline the past couple of years means he's covered in red flags, IMO. That said, he'll probably be able to keep them in the game since that lineup will score off anybody. Even Rich Harden.
