Correct. Because A) I DID in fact make reference to the Yankees' fanbase in my post which you quoted, and B) I dont know how I could get through the vigors of my day without telling myself that. Because it really matters to me that much.

Really? So when RS says Johnny won't get the same kind of ovation that O-Cab got, and you respond with...

There is definately something wrong when a shortstop who was a part of your team for 3 months gets more love and respect after leaving than a center fielder who was there for 4 years, and evolved into one of the game's premier players in that time.

Thats why Sox leave for the Yanks, and have things to say afterwards.

....you aren't talking about fans? Could have fooled me. I guess you were just talking about Weebles, you know, the mother-f***ers that wobble but don't fall down.

man, it is late, I have had too much caffeine and now I am digging up old threads. Just read one about the sox offensive predictions and it was rather accurate for the 06 season. Saw this one and thought, hmmm, how many would change their tune.

So, how many will change your tune on this deal right now?

Why are you always looking for reassurance that the Sox stunk it up and the Yanks are superior?

I am not looking for reassurance my friend. I am asking if you would undo this trade? Simple, concise, yes or no.

Posted
At this point in time yes because we have 3 good starting outfielders and not enough starters (without Mats). But the main point of the trade was to get a power outfielder for the future, so we can't really say if the deal was good or bad.

sorry, tired, up too late, been scouring through the forum to learn a bit more about youse guys. I think it would be for the best if I had more than just a couple months under my belt when dealing with you guys. But it is bed time.

I don't mind you bringing it up. Arroyo would have put up Arroyo-like numbers last year for the sox. Down the stretch he would have held up, pitching adequately for him to be the ace of the staff for the last 2/3rds of August and all of September. The Sox may have won two or three more games during that time and would still have had a mediocre record and would have finished out of the playoffs.

We will know whether the trade is good or not this year and next. If Arroyo wins an NL Cy Young and WMP shits the bed then obviously it was a bad trade. If WMP hits 28 HR and the Sox win the WS nobody is going to be missing Arroyo. That may not happen until next season, as WMP looks to be a 4th OF this season, which is right where he should be at 24 years old and playing on a team good enough to sit him.

Arroyo was a very mediocre pitcher for Boston in 2005 so I don't know what him doing in the NL has anything to do with what he would have done in the AL. Arroyo would have had an ERA in the 4.50-5 range last year for Boston and although that would have actually been an upgrade it still wouldn't have been good. Pena is the only young power hitter the Sox have and I stll think this was one of the best trades the FO has done in a while. (outside of the Renteria trade)

Arroyo's peripherals were declining and it was the right time to move him. If you think the Arroyo trade was bad just go look up what it cost to get Arroyo in the first place. I think the FO won in terms of what it cost to get him, what he did for Boston, and what they got in return for him.

You are right about Arroyo, at least from where I'm sitting---except when you say what he got back for him. We got back an outfielder who cannot play two of the positiions out there and has never learned to properly track a fly ball. We got a guy who would be a strong candidate to set a ML strikeout record if we ever had the misfortune to have him play a full season in our lineup, and one who is simply a terrible clutch hitter with men on base. The only consolation is that either he or Crisp may have to be traded for the closer we are going to need next season.

I just reported your post to the MODS. Probably the fifth time I have, I wish others would as well as people like yourself are why our good posters leave the board, or only come around to contribute once in a while like myself.

Why must Yankee fans continually dig up s*** to piss off Sox fans on a Sox Board?

MODS i can tell you this though, if this were NYYFANS he would have already been banned.

??? Man, you really need to chill out. Guess I struck a nerve.

Jackson the reason you stike so many nerves is you have no give in your statements and always point out the bad in any post you write.

You find anything and everything wrong with anything the red sox do or don't do and continue to bring it up until a argument has broken out. While you may be correct in some issues, your biggest draw back is that in your post, if you read betweent he lines it always seems to put the Sox as doing no right and NYY doing no wrong. You tend to point out wosrt case scenarios for our team and seem to put a halo above the NYY FO/players ect. Which is fine since you are a NYY fan. But you have to understand people aren't going to like it and probably not like you.

Gom is a perfect example, all tho he is a NYY fan, he also see's the good the sox do and the bad NYY do. He is fair and un bias in judgement most of the time, even when he says he hopes as a NYY fan Matsuzaka goes back to Japan, but he also expresses points from other views besides a NYY fan.

Thats why so many people get annoyed with your post because there always negative, maybe not intended but there seems to always be an underline "tone"so to speak in you writings. Most of them seem at some point to jab us Sox fans in the ribs, or to continue to stur the perverbial "pot".

As a Sox fan I hate the NYY, but as a poster I can also show a side that can agree with moves the NYY make and think of them as positive moves for that club. You on the other hand whether it be Drew,Lugo.Matsuzaka,Arroyo ect always point out the most negative aspect of things.

Don't get me wrong we should all keep each other on our toes being that we hate each others teams, but in all fairness if your gonna post here then you need to show some un bias nature. Thanks for taking the time to read Jackson, and I hope your able to continue posting.

See Jackson, you've already taken the first step:thumbsup: Looking forward to more of your interesting post!LOL Hopefully anyone whose had issues with you sees this post and gives you a chance to work on it.

Bosox brought up some good points Jackson and you might be guilty of those things, but I have never seen anything overly negative from you regarding the Red Sox. You are a Yankee fan and you hate the Red Sox and want to see them down and out. That is understandable; some posters read more into things than others. I'm not saying Bosox is wrong because he may not be; it is just that I seen things a little differently. We both agree that we want you on this board because you bring a lot to it. I was on a another board sometime ago where they allowed only Red Sox fans on it. It was dull, drab and totally uninspiring. Everyone went lockstep in total agreement with everything the FO did. They could have made a movie of that pathetic crew and called it "THE STEPFORD HUSBANDS.".
