I was watching the Suns insider tonight while eating dinner and saw that Amare was cleared to rehab at full tilt, and they showed pictures of him dunking already! :D  He was also shown doing plyometric drills and Tom Chambers said he should be back in a few weeks. :D

This is great news and it will be even amazinger (is that a word?) if he comes back on the night I got tickets, March 11th against the Wolves.

I'm so amped!!! :D

Nice, I'm a Celtics fan, but thats cool that he's coming back when you're going to the game.

Oops...I meant it would make the news even better. I HOPE he does, because the place will be louder than it ever has in its existence. And that would MOST definately be an awesome experience...and a lost voice and splitting headache for me. :D  B)

Same here, but I also agree that its nice he is going to be back. I enjoy watching him play, he's very entertaining, especially with Nash and The Matrix out there.

Yup, with him back at hopefully and prayerfully 100% it makes us without doubt the best show on hardwood. I'm amped! B)

Hell, I'm excited and I don't like the Suns. Just love watching Amare do his thing.

Did I mention that Kiki was one of the guys that passed on him? I believe he went with Skita, instead. Great pick. <_>

u'd think that Amare would be working on other things rather than his dunking, especially after the surgery

That's just one of the things they showed him working on, because his game NEEDS the vertical leaping ability (it was a drill to help regain the hops). It also showed him doing plyos, agility drills, and working on his jumpshot.

yeah thats what I was referring to. After his surgery, he needs to do som adjustments to his game, because he wont be able to play that kind of game at full speed for a while. Needs to work on his jumpers and otehr things.

why do we have a thread about admare, why can't we have one about Tim Duncan if were talking Forwards, or Kevin Garnett, rumor is Garnett could be traded to Lakers, for Odom, and George... That is some real news right there

For a few reasons...

A) I talk about basketball in the NBA thread ALL THE TIME and I'm a Suns fan

B ) Because I made the thread and people actually care

C) Because Amare OWNS Duncan

D) Because I was excited

and E) Because Tim Duncan is more boring than listening to you post

Ok, I also said Kevin Garnett, Garnett is a good player... but quick question, why do i get criticized for making an opinion? I've heard crazier thing in my days... I can say Tim Duncan is better then Admare, because Duncan has championships, and MVPs. He can do things Admare can't

I give props to giarsF!. Despite being flamed almost every time, he does refrain from name-callings or personal attacks.

Back to the topic:

Yes, I agree with that. Tim Duncan is the complete package for a PF. He scores 20 points, grabs 10-12 rebounds, and gets almost 3 blocks a game. One thing that Amare has an edge, though: athleticism.

PS-

The "championship ring" argument is really getting old. That does not define how good a player is.

Talk about being a homer. There's no way you believe that.

HA. Well if you look at it (and throw out the ring argument which I concede) in head to head matchups, Amare SHREDS Duncan. Duncan cannot guard him, its not even close. But I won't get into it, because everyone sees Duncan as the NBA's greatest big man so w/e.

But I'll ask this GIARSF, you actually think that Duncan can do things that Stoudemire cannot? Name one (if you say rings place Stoudemire on those teams and hes got 3 rings too, and that IS the case)

I'll agree with MGB in that Amare shreds Duncan head to head. Watch the next Spurs/Suns game that Amare plays in.

In two regular season games against Tim Duncan last season, Amare averaged 36 points, 7 rebounds. In the playoffs, he averaged about 37 points, 10 rebounds; including 42 points and 16 rebounds in the game the Suns were eliminated.

Sure, Duncan's got two rings, then again, I don't think Amare was in High School when Tim Duncan got drafted into the NBA. Team accomplishments should not be used in individual debates or else, to change sports for a brief second, Mark Rypien or Trent Dilfer are better than Dan Marino.

Quick question -- who would you take on your team, considering they're about equally as good? The 29 year old? Or the 23 year old?

That's why we're talking about Amare.
